COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Tasted on 5/11/13 from a capped 650mL bomber bottle purchased at a grocery store in Arizona. Pours clear orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to average, messy lace. The nose is full of hoppiness, ranging from resin, to citrus, to floral, with just a touch of yeast aroma and a bit of bread malt. The flavor is really just dominated by hops and bitterness, with the same touch of bread malt acting as a bit of a balancing agent. The body is medium with a bit of a sticky texture, average carbonation, and a long, ridiculously bitter hoppy finish.

Tap. Medium ivory head, big lace. Hoppy citric aroma. Hazy orange. Balanced, citrus, fruits and bread. Dry oily palate, long citric aftertaste.

meh... Ive had better IPAs from Stone and better IPAs from other breweries. Its a hop bomb, a good and extremely drinkable hop bomb, but a hop bomb none the less.

At a tasting from a bottle. Joey Jordanoff and I concur, solid aroma backed up by a nice balance of hops and malts. A little resin on the palate but not overwhelming. Solid drop.

Keg at Brewdog Liverpool. A slightly hazy amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, resin with spicy and pungent orange, lemon and grapefruit. Taste is bitter and hop dominated with flavours of grapefruit, pine, alcohol and spiciness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a waxy texture. A long, dry bitter finish. A solid IPA but too bitter to be really enjoyable, which is a shame.

From bomber. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a two-finger dense pillowy head. Leaves lots and lots of lacing on the glass. The aroma of citrus and floral hit me before the top was off the bottle. Taste does not disappoint, and is huge on citrus with a big malty backbone - not caramel, but nice and rich. It’s balanced towards bitter but not overly so. Lightly bitter finish. Very nice.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- An over the top hops and citrus aroma. Appearance- The beer is a murky golden yellow with a small white head. Looks good. Taste- Very hoppy, I noticed the high scores and I guess I am not a follower. The flavor was OK Palate- A light to medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. The hops made this a very dry beer. Overall- I thought this was OK, not great or even real good. I much prefer Arrogant Bastard over this. .

It pours cloudy orange, very little head, thin white lacing. The aroma of pine, grass, sweet honey smell too, toffee. The taste is hugely bitter and very grassy, big hop bomb.

Poured from an oversize bottle. Cloudy orange with a pale yellow head. Decent lacing. Aroma is orange and lemon zest, grapefruit, pine resin, and coriander. Flavour is crisp citrus, with lemon and grapefruit standing out. There are also notes of grass, bread, and malts. Light body with moderate carbonation. Awesome double IPA!
