What a wonderful aroma this beer has; a very complimentary pairing of malt and hops. Golden amber in color with a bit of a haze. A very smooth mouth feel. Well balanced flavor. The hops are appearent immediately then the malt and alcohol shine through followed by a second wave of hops. Wow! This is truly a great beer!

This is a true heavyweight contender for champion of the IPAís. Really smacks you right in the mouth. A right hook of hops, and a straight jab of bitter palate ruining goodness. Truly a liquid poem that contains a roller coaster of emotion with every drink. Step into the ring if you dare.

Even for an American IPA this beer has a lot of hoppy bitterness and itís sweet malt backbone can hold up to it. It has a very hoppy aroma with hints of citrus. Flavor has hints of honey, lemon rind and orange. Itís a tad cloudy, it had almost no lacing and the head was a little weak, which were really the only drawbacks.

For not bring an "ipa guy", I certainly enjoy ruination. Great foggy golden/straw color with bright white lacing. Extremely floral & hoppy smell.. You can almost smell the bitterness thru your nose. Taste is well, very bitter & floral. Not a whole lot of room here for any citrusy tastes with how hopped it is. Alcohol is very well blended for how high it is. Great beer & very drinkable.

Strange to be challenged with a taste that first impression I did not like only to be won over by its intensity and uniqueness. Pungent. Complex. Surprising. Pushing my envelope from bitterness standpoint but still judge as a buy again favorite

Definately my favorite from Stone Brewing Co. Big hops taste with a kick. The color is deep and rich. Highly recommended to IPA fans.

I love good IPAís. And then there is this from Stone. The 100+ IBU is just silly. I could barely taste any beer. As to the Hop flavour, who can tell? It is wasted away by the dominance of the IBUís.
I donít understand those who equate Hop flavor with bitterness? I love a good hoppy IPA with nice aroma and strong hop flavours, Ruination is no such beer. You want a strong IPA that has a disinguishable Hop character Dogfish Head 90-minute IPA is the way to go.
