So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

A very hoppy and well-balanced DIPA with medium bitterness. A great bear overall.

I poured it out into the glass and it produced a very nice golden color. Transparent characteristics with a fine white head. In my opinion, a great looking brew. Smell? First red flag. It smelled somewhat of oranges, but it seemed a little stronger than that - in a bad way. It was a little sweet but every time I kept smelling it I was reminded of orange cleaning product. Not pleasant. Taste? Second red flag. It had a very strong taste of hops with a strange fusion of oranges in it. Problem was that it tasted just like it smelled. It reminded me of cleaning solution and I did not enjoy it at all. I had two other people try it and they agreed with my conclusion. The texture was actually nice if you rule out the other characteristics. It was a pretty smooth beer with an interesting contrast of flavors. Although it was a little too sharp.

I apparently didn't rate this, when I thought I had. No other IPA begins to approach. This is pure hops with the barest possible minimum of malt "balance." Simply outrageous hops, so much that you need to steel yourself before each sip. Do it, because when you do, each sip is bliss. This is the one, real deal, but only when you can be as pure and uncompromising as the beer itself.

Pour is smooth with low to medium head. Color is golden orange. Smell is very hoppy lots of grain. Taste is first fruity then amazingly bitter and that lingers.

Smelled lots of green! I expected this to be a little more rough than it was bitter wise. Tasted some citrus! Good beer

had the pleasure of enjoying this masterpiece while witnessing the ny giants own the patriots....while the pour, nose, and head are wonderful to behold, it is the flavor that makes this IPA stand out from the crowd. it begins smooth and full on the palate, quite malty and warm. as the drink progresses, the hops slowly blossom until you are left with the incredible bitter finish. buy this. drink it. enjoy.

CLoudy golden appearance sith a frothed white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a flowery malt with sweet undertones. Flavor is fruit like with a sharp bitterness from the overwhelmingly hopped brew. Very good. Palate bitterness holds tight and finishes with a crisp hint of sweet clover. Unique. One of my favorite IPAs. Will buy again.
