COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

I love the look of this beer; beautifully clear amber with a strong head. Smelly more hoppy than it tastes. Despite the super-high IBU rating, I find it very balanced by a healthy amount of malt, which prevents the beer from being too one-sided. Underneath all that hops is a nice, fruity taste, especially after you get used to the hops.

Nice orange/amber pour with about 1 finger of head. Strong hoppy scent.. and a bitter hoppy flavor. Overall an excellent beer. 750ml bottle.

I just found this beer at my local liquor store. We balanced in taste with a good head when poured. Wonderful on the palate for a self-described hop-head.

Iím not gonna lie, Ruination is the best IPA Iíve ever had. This was a bottle pour, a hazy peach that reminded me of a Wiezen. Relatively thin head but a nice lace on the glass. VERY fresh, bought in a six-pack near the brewery. Nose is typically citrus -- strong and almost pure grapefruit with some sweeter orange blossom overtones and lemongrass, hints of cardamom. The mouth is wonderfully light, just the right amount of carbonation, finishing much smoother than most IPA varieties, some sultry stickiness lingering well after Iíd quaffed the pint. The flavor is delightfully complex, with intense hops, citrus, and tannin that barely conceals a lovingly malty sweetness. I have never had an IPA to match the Ruination. Itís simply amazing. And if anyone knows a better IPA, please contact me, because Iíd like to try it.

Lovely golden-orange in color. A blast of piney hops and fresh flowers from the galss, at first wave, with citrus and spice notes. A zesty, but balanced on the palate. Orange zest right away fading to a piney, mineraly finish. Creamy and full bodied. A pleasure to sit and sip! I’ll definately have another!

12 oz beer bottle poured into a tall wheat beer like glass. May be why I couldn’t pick up much aroma. Appearance is a medium-deep gold with a very faint orange. Initially a medium-heavy creamy head that eventually fell to medium-small, leaving slight lace. Mouth feel is initially smooth followed by a slightly more aggressive tingle. Flavor is obviously hop dominated with a hint of what may be caramel. Bitterness sets in, and although it is strong it isn’t quite ruinatingly bitter. Overall its an extremely enjoyable beer and probably one of my top 5 favorites at the time of this writing.

A great alternative to any IPA, this being my favorite of any IPA I have tried. Extremely bitter but inviting. One must drink before intense movement.

The only turn off is the high price tag as itís almost twice as expensive as other high uality IPAs. Just a terrif flavor, robably the icon of the IPA class. a picture of this bottle could be in Websters. The aroma is that of a half dozen random fruit-scented Yankee Candles and the taste is like gourmet fruit infused bubblegum. A great offering that most people could enjpy.
