So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2005 Pours a nice amber color... smells of sulfur and hops... the flavor is malty hops and orange rinds... very tastey... lingering after taste a lil dry... this is going to be a favorite!

Bottle into Sniffer. Pours Golden with a nice white head. Smells of floral hops are most prominent with some yeast. All hops taste. Goes down super smooth, leaving a bitter after taste. Very nice beer, but not as good as a 90 min.

the only thing that throws me off of this beer is the alcohol. it is only 8% but it is very apparent and unbalaced other than that this IPA (double) is killer. great citrus and floral hops with a malty back bone that is not overly assertive.

Purchased this at $10 a six pack as a misorder by a store. I was intrigued from the pour as it was a bright transparent liquid gold. As usual I drank the first one at room tempature which added to the appeal of the pour. At entranced IPA has a smooth flat feel but a little swoosh releases the hoppy bitter bite. Flavor like taste is piney and stongly reminicent of grapefruit. Although hoppy IPA maintains it a smooth taste and feel for a 7.7% beverage. All in all it is bold, hoppy and bitter. Did I say bitter? A good IPA; especially at 7.7% but not as complex in flavor as I had hoped for. I never thought I would say it but I miss the malty sweet touch. Nevertheless a great beer.

A good one from Stone. Obviously hoppy but not overly bitter by any means. Taste of floral and pine. Pours an orange color with little lacing. Stone never puts out anything mediocre and that certainly echos with this brew. One of the better IPAs out there for sure; if you can find it!

Muito aromática. Pinho, cítrico. Amargor forte e persistente. Bem encorpada no malte. Final seco. Pouco se percebe o álcool, mesmo sendo 7,7% ABV. Predomina na boca o gosto do óleo de lúpulo, resinoso, de madeira e fruta citrica azeda. Lembra sumo da casca de limão. Cerveja única

Bottle pour into pint glass. Great citrus aroma you know the hops are coming. Very orange in color with a small off white head. This beer is not for the uninitiated! Delicious hops flavor tons of piney, resin, hit you in the face and it is actually balanced for what it is. Medium body. It will for certain wreck your palate can’t imagine pairing this with any food, but you will continue to go back for another sip. Very very bitter aftertaste but you want to go back for more. Recommend for Hop Heads. Definitely lives up to it’s name.

22 oz. Orange, pale color with a light head. I got a bit of a floral aroma under the hops. When they say this ruins your palete, they were right. Too much for my inexperience, I can't say I liked the finish. Other than that, a good beer. Hoppy and strong. The destruction of the palete is really all I didn't like.
