So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle. Pours a deep bit hazy golden colour with a very nice medium creamy head. Sweet, very fruity, hoppy, flowery aroma. Very good dry mouthfeel. The flavour is very dry with some sweetness, lots of flowers and ripe fruits and stuffed with hops. Very, very dry hoppy finish. Great dryness!

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2003 This beer really, really rocks. It is the color of liquid Gold with an albino white head. The aroma is very floral. Smells like a hop blossom... ok, an entire acre of the little green bastards. The flavor? HOPS, malt, HOPS, slightly pungent... did I mention HOPS? This beer has a very dry, crisp, fizzy finish. Unbelievably smooth for a 100+ IBUer. HOPHEADS REJOICE. Wait! I think I just burped up a little green flower. Nope, false alarm.

This nice beer has a wonderful warm amber color and a huge, white head. The aroma is wonderfully hoppy with notes of citrus, resin, grass and something that reminds me of a nice cheese (not old/smelly). The flavour has notes of citrus, fruits like tangerine and melon, caramel, a light sweetness, nice resin and bitterness. The body is very full and very harmonic - I’m in love!!! Thank you Tom/Afeter4ever for this very nice beer!

Bottle @ home. Burnt orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Resiny hoppy nose. Sticky mouthfeel. Fairly intense resiny hoppy flavor with a pretty large malty flavor. Sticky hoppy finish.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2004 Medium amber with an averaged sized off-white head. Piney/spruce smell with hints of oranges. This beer reminds me why IPAs are one of my favorite styles - hops, hops and more hops!

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2011 12 oz. bottle, pours a potent bright orange with a white head. Extremely hoppy aroma, with a more citrusy than grassy aroma compared to the regular IPA. Mouth-watering, potent hops flavour. One of the best IIPAs out there.

[Thanks to yngwie] Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of barley, caramel and hops. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2015 Great floral pine citrus smell. Nice dark orange color. Cellared for a couple of months, and found balanced in bitterness and only a bit palate erasing.

This beer will definitely make your tongue stand up and do a little jig. IPAs are not one of my favorite styles but I will make an exception in this case. Nice dark golden color with a medium thick off-white head. Sinus-clearing hops aroma with a nice floral touch. Senses-shattering hops flavor along with grapefruit and a little malt to keep your heart from stopping. Nice long, bitter finish. Excellent.

On tap at the Ginger Man Dallas. It pours hazy golden yellow with a thin foamy head. The nose is lots of citrus fruits, caramel, resin and pine. The taste is orange, lemon, mango, resin, monster hop bite, pine, bread, biscuit, leather and some astringency with a long bitter-dry finish. It’s surprisingly smooth and almost a bit too easy to drink!
