COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

This will destroy your palate, and you will be thankful for it. Huge hop flavors and bitterness, this beer will suck the moisture right out of your mouth. All in all, awesome and fearsome. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to glass. Name says it all. Huge citrusy, piney hoppy aroma. The bitterness is a bit overpowering in the flavor. Not really balanced at all. I really dig the RuinTen though.

Bottle to tumbler. Clear, Golden. Fairly good head. Aroma: pine, grapefruit, medium malts, slight alcohol Taste: What do you expect? Bitterness prevails. but still feels balanced. Moderate carb, long bitter/ citrus hop finish but I donít think it ruins most bold food tastes. Certainly they slayed the hops here but IBUing is not really an extreme sport.

A very very good IPA. Very tasty. Grapefruit and all that jazz. Plenty of hops, not dry bitterness. Lovely.

Drank from the bottle, has a dull citrus / hoppy smell to it, absolutely delicous on the palate. Has that sharp bite that other IPAís just donít have, and 8.5% abv you canít go wrong! Not as bitter as you might expect, but has a wonderful SUPER strong hop flavor to it. This is gonna be my new go to beer, via 6-packs at my local specs ; )

Yet another "I canít believe I havenít rated this already" beers. Medium light yellow color with a foamy white head and dank, catty hop aroma with a touch of citrus. Very strong citrus pith and pine bitterness rolls over the tongue with prickly deliciousness. Just enough honeyed sweetness to support the assault of hops. Light bodied and not cloying in any sense other than a strong hop bite. Finishes with a nice light malt aftertaste and lots and lots of sticky bitterness. I bought this specifically because Stone is retiring this beer and bringing out a new version of it. I remember when I first tasted this years ago and thinking it was insane (which in an absolute sense it still is), but the growth of high IBU IPAs over the years has made this simply ahead of its time. Iíd forgotten how tasty and drinkable this beer is and Iím a little sad now to see it go, but Iím looking forward to trying the new 2.0 reboot of it. So long Ruination IPA, you helped make American IPAs what they are today!

12 ounce bottle pours a medium yellow color slightly cloudy with a white head the dissipates quickly. Moderate pine aroma. Huge hit of hop bitterness upfront. large mouth feel. Medium level of carbonation. A bit harsh in the end.... just Ok.

Pours light yellow with medium head. Aroma: a lot of grass, herbs and some citrus. Taste: very grassy and refreshing, nice hops strike in the palate. ABV very well hidden, especially because the beer seems super refreshing and drinkable. Good one.

355ml bottle at home. Somewhat hazy orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Pretty bitter with subtle fruity tones. Pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel, pineapple and spices. A very tasty DIPA.

Aroma is very floral hops and some sweet caramel malts. Taste is red grapefruit and sweet caramel malts in the middle of the tongue. There is some peppery, crackery bread notes that finish.
