COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Pours a golden-orangish color with a bit of haze and an offwhite head that leaves tracing along the glass. Lots of spicy, citrusy hops hit the nose right away, with a hint of bready malts. For such an agressive DIPA, the malts do make themselves known at the front, a bit of nice sweetness on the tip of the tongue. After that passes, it’s all hops. Stone is well known for brewing bold, aggressive brews an this is one of the boldest. Strong resiny, citrusy hops spread across the tongue and rush it towards a delightfully bitter finish that lingers on the tongue after the brew has been swallowed. Lively palate, medium bodied with a slight amount of carbonation and a small amount of stickiness as it goes down. This beer is a hopheads dream and stands proudly amongst the great beer lineup offered by Stone. A must drink.

Bottle. Clear gold. Great hop smell and flavor that slowly turns to solid alcohol as it sits.

Bottle. Clear orange with a medium sized off white head. Pine, dank, white bread, alcohol presence, grapefruit, caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft/medium carbonation, medium sweet and heavy bitter. Astringent finish. Good things in here, but the leafy bitterness in the finish is a bit much. Lots of punch, but not really that pleasant.

Wow! May be 100+ IBUs, but it is so balanced - floral, citrus hops, alcohol - all perfectly combined.

Pours hazy golden into snifter. An assault on the taste buds. Floral/citrusy notes on the nose and tongue. A monster ipa with a more than generous amount of hops. This one stays with you. A fantastic IPA. Come to expect this from stone

Surprisingly smooth malt profile for a double IPA. Not the strongest hops presence, but a great combination.
