So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Big white foamy head over a clear golden body. Aroma of zesty citrus, grass, apricot. Taste of upfront bitterness, and then some more bitterness. Lemon, grass, some oxidation, and some more bitterness. Finish is long, zesty, and...Bitter. (get the picture yet?)

Pours amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is a hop overdose with huge floral notes. Flavor is overwhelmingly bitter but I love it in spite of myself. Medium body, frenetic carbonation. Very nice brew, even though I'm not a big IPA fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. bottle. Can really taste the 100+ IBU in this one. Color is a dark yellow, with only a slight hop aroma. Starts off with a nice citrus-grapefruit hoppyness with a hint of pine or spruce at the end. Can really taste the bitterness between drinks. Good, but not the best.

Bottle. Punchy citrus aroma that continues into the flavour before rampant bitterness takes over. The bitterness strips the flavour the flavour away on the finish. An interesting beer.

Nice fruity aroma with pine sand hints of citrus. Pours a clear golden amber with a white ring and spotty lacing. The taste, initially, has a sweet fruity quality about it followed by "subdued" pine/resin flavor ending with a satisfying hoppy bitter finish. Medium fbody with medium carbonation. There is almost a tongue coating quality that is not found in most IPA’s. Very pleasing. Overall, this is a very enjoyable IPA which I want to have again.

Westmeister’s Birthday Beer Tasting Extravaganza Beer #11. The final beer of this epic day of celebration. This was a good beer, but, in the uber competitive field of IIPA’s, I don’t think this rates near the top. Poured a very pale amber with white head. Scentsof ctirus and alcohol on the nose. Finish was a bit too bitter for me, although the food pairing may have had an effect. Stone’s easy availability and this beer’s low price point for the style will probably lead me to trying it again. Bottle - Westmeister’s House - Cumming, GA

Pours a clear golden with a oily look. There is a white rim of foam that leaves no lacing or so. Aroma is dank with hops crushing anything else that might want to stick out. Taste is bitter but not as crazy bitter I thought it would. Flavors are juicy, piny, grapefruit rinds and a little balancing malt. Mouthfeel is indeed oily with a soft carbonation. Alcohol is a little apparent, too. Good one, might not be worth the hype it once had. One should note that it is never harsh, an example to follow in extremely hoppy beers!

Bouteille, achetée au Half Time (Poughkeepsie). Robe orangée semi-opaque. Mince collet blanc. Arôme et goût de houblon floral, d’agrume, de résine et de malt. Costaude et équilibrée. Rafraichissante.
