COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Definitely hoppy, not balanced at all. Hop lovers will enjoy. Personally I would have rated it a bit higher if it just had a little more complexity. Either a little bit of a floral or citrus character. The pine was definitely there.

Pretty delicious. Although, I’m following up a Firestone Double Jack and that’s a tough beer follow. Hops are definitely the overarching theme here. Very smooth; almost a hint of malt in the finish to balance the bitterness. Great beer but not elite.

Ar: Orange pith, a hint of onion - pine, lemon, and grapefruit. Ap: Crystal-clear gold-copper - large off white head with excellent retention, leaves a trail of foam and settles to a medium-thick cap. T: Toasted malt, pine, and lemon up front - high, clean bitterness - orange, a bit of raisin, very floral - pepper and grapefruit on the finish. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - finish is dry. O: A mainstay 2XIPA - wonderful flavor, clean bitterness - hoppy, full of taste, and pointed.

Pale amber, tight head, Full body, dense flavor concentration, rich and balanced mouthfeel, little alcohol jeat, long palate. Intensely bittersweet which balances the low acidity. Hoppy, very citrusy. Great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sadly served to cold to release the full gamut of aromas. Appeared hazy amber with a good skim of white head. Up the nose was Golden Queen peaches, spruce cones and resinous hops, typical of the style. In the mouth a lush fruity, zesty and hoppy symphony with bitterness in spadefuls. The finish is an enduring glissade from violent chlorophyll into distant medicinal herbaceousness. Could possibly be a rock star beer but for the way it was served... something breweries ought to take ownership of.

Resinous hops, spruce and citrus are in full force. Clear golden pour great lacing. Nice head. Overall a wonderfully intense and flavorful IIPA.

650 mL bottle supplied by my step-dad last night. I appreciate it; thanks. Consumed as I attentively watched Boston Legal while a Maine coon loudly purred on my lap. To oversized snifter, it pours a bright amber orange with which a white-ringed head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of juniper berries, rosemary tips, lime meat, sweat, Bible paper, endive seeds, grinded garlic, and russet potatoes. Tastes the same with the addition of saké lees, cardboard, hop pellets, sourdough, green olives, and Red Star yeast flakes. A delicate kiss of smoke, candle wax, spent grain, and rutabaga experienced by swallow. Mmm, mmm, mmm.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2014 Look: pours a light orange color. Extremely clear. Small head that doesn't hang around long. Head is bright white Smell: extreme dank smell. Very sweet smell. Slight alcohol smell. Grapefruit. Smell cat pee. Taste: skunk smell. Slight peppery feel. Definite bitterness to it. Slight line notes to it. Cat pee in a good way. Feel: good carbonation. Leaves a film in your mouth. Definitely a dry beer. Overall: bitterness and dryness make you want to go back for another drink. Good go to beer for the summer. First drank: home June 2, 2014

A nice hoppy aroma almost citrusy with a light malt in the backround. A strong hoppy taste with a bit of the bitterness followed by the maltiness to offset the bitter and hop. The aftertaste is a nice bitter with the malt trying to break thru.
