3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark straw colour with an off white head, good lace work. Dark Banana cake on the nose and on the palate with blistering bitterness to follow, immensely unsubtle but I guess that’s what it’s all about!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big Bottle. Poured an orange amber with a small off-white head. Some lacing. A strong sweet grassy hops nose. Potently bitter with a sweet floral resiny hops. A good strong ipa with a nice lingering bitterness and full creamy body. Very nice, but not an ideal hop profile for my taste.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2008 Bottle. Golden amber color with a white head that quickly dissipates. Smells of intense citrus, hint of alcohol. Hoppy flavor that dances on your tongue along with a light alcohol flavor. Although very bitter I found a sweet taste somewhere in there that I can’t put into words. Good for someone who loves bitter. Also, has a slight warming in the throat.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From bottle : Big citrus aroma comes off this from the start. Grapefuit mainly. Pours a hazy, carbonated orangish color with a thin white head, that bubbles on the surface, and works down to a foamy ring around the edges. Taste is interesting, following the hype and description of the beer. It claims it is so hoppy and bitter and whatnot, but it really isnt. Dont get me wrong, it is good, a bite and the beginning, followed with a hop flavor in the middle, the end with a little hint of alcohol. But not at all the hop monster that it is made out to be, mainly by Stone. Aftertaste is faint and watered down it seems. Palate is smooth and fast, with a medium body, turning kinda light on the end. The main problem is when it warms, i find that it is very watered down and bland, not good at all. Cold, its good. Warm, its not good.

From bottle. Poured cloudy golden color. Huge fluffy white head. Had to let it settle. Nice lacing on the glass. Aroma was all grass. Flavor grassy, citrusy, with mild sweet caramel hints in the finish. Thick but smooth mouth feel. You definitely get a hop bite out of this beer.

pleasant hoppy flowery aroma, thin soapy white head and a nice hazy amber color. not as intense as i was expecting. its immediately bitter, and goes to the roof of your mouth, then begins to mellow and ends with an earthy wheaty type flavor

Golden with a white head. Resiny aroma, sweet, hoppy with not much maltiness or caramel... kind of feels really green. Quite a mild mouthful, fairly bitter but not a ’hop bomb ’ as I’d expected. Lots of perfumey, resin flavours, a bit of pinefresh. The finish almost has a citrus twang, and quite a serving of alcohol. Not a standout, but pretty good all the same.

Bottle pours a dark amber color with white head. Has a nice sweet hoppy aroma. Has a medium mouthfeel. Tastes piney, hoppy, and citrusy. Is a nice hop bomb for a beginner. There are other more intense hop bombs out there. Overall this is a nice session IIPA.

An experience worth having, but not repeating, at least not very often. This is a great beer for learning about the difference between centennial and cascade hops, but give yourself half an hour before tasting any other beers to avoid pretty serious flavor distortion. There is a lot to be learned from this beer; we often learn to taste the presence of certain flavors in smaller concentrations by reference to an exaggerated example.
