COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

This brew poured a small head of fine to large sized white bubbles and amber orange transparent body. It has a strong hoppy aroma and a strong hoppy flavor to boot. It has an initial hop flavor and a strong hop finish. You can summarize the brew in 1 word! HOPPY. A true hopheads delight.

This beer pours a couldy orange color with a small head and minimal lacing on the glass. The aroma is very hoppy - like most micro IPA's. The flavor was very hoppy and spicy as the aroma hinted at. This is a good representation of the IPA class and if you're a hop head, this one is for you.

Looks like a glass of honey. Not a lot of aroma. Flavor is fruity and very hoppy. Maybe a little too hoppy for my taste. A decent beer that I think is better alone than with most food.

Three Floyds, get off your high horse. This ale is quite possibly my favorite beer ever. beautiful pour, just slightly cloudy, with an AMAZING aroma. The taste truly is ruinous, and oh so bitter. Not being a fan of sweeter PAs, this one just took the almighty Sierra Nevada off of my numbewr 1 spot! Perfect in every way!!!

This beer kicks me in the ass. Extremely hoppy and bitter. I understand the selling point of this beer is its bitterness, but I can do no more than sip it slowly. It feels like it dries out my mouth when I drink it.

A decent IPA, nothing to outstanding, thought it was kind of average, but the bottle is sick.

I know this is why it is liked by hop hads, but damn that is way too bitter for me. I would like it with more malt backbone. It is unbalanced to me and I don’t like it this way. I like some bitterness but I think this is way too much. The flavor has waaay too much pine for me. It does grow on me a little as the alcohol gets to me. Just got done moving Erica into Geneseo in a snow storm this morning.

How do you rate a beer that is well crafted, and suits the style that it is brewed for, when you don’t like the style so much? The epitome of the West Coast style that I do not enjoy, it is still a better beer than many.

Light copper; piney, foresty hop aroma. Hops just clobber the palate. Rich malts come in later - an earthy, resiny brew. Very intense, but I have to admit, I’ve never been thrilled with these over-the-top beers and wouldn’t want to drink them as a general rule.
