So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

A hop lovers dream....Stone is the master of hops. This beer is a benchmark for west coast IPA’s, but despite the great hop flavor, it was almost a bit one dimensional. A great beer, but not something I would want to have at any occasion.

Holy Smokes....enough hops to rip the enamel off your teeth!! Its amazing. I love a beer that can back up the hops with some malt substance, this is a great IPA. A must for any Hop-Head.

clean & crisp in the nose and of course, extremely hoppy. Sure, this beer is loaded with hops, but it was surprisingly sweet on the finish.

Has a nice amber color and a hoppy smell. Taste is of hops, hops and more hops and finishes with just the right amount of bitterness. Overall one of the finest IPAs that I have had.

Huge hop nose and huge hop front and huge hop middle and huge hop end and huge hop aftertaste. I like Jay’s "one-trick beer" statement. We were so excited to pop this one open...and then we just sort of sat there wating for something else to happen to it!

A golden color with a lacing head. (side note: it is making a perfect butterfly in the middle of its liquid surface.) A hoppy and citrus aroma. Nice bitter hops right up front with a calmer citrus flavor rounding it out.

Hm. Bitter! Tastes essentially the same to me as the standard Stone IPA. I get the same citrus (grapefruit, mostly) flavors, just more hops. Very very good but I have to rate this below the regular IPA because as far as I can see the extra bitterness only serves to mask some of the very good flavors in these two beers.

Hoppy fruity peach grapefruit pine aroma.Blond appearance with normal sized head.Thickish mouthfeel. Sweet hoppy fruity grapefruit apricot peach flavors with lingering radiating bitterness on the finish.Seemed more like a good barleywine.

Hoppy aroma, grassy, piney and biscuity. French fries?! Clean light malts. Peppery hops in the strongly dry finish. Golden color.

Cannot believe I have not reviewed this before now. Bought at my local oraganic grocer. Now poured into my pint glass from the 22 oz bomber this is not a really excellent looking IPA.for a start its very clear , orange , almost like Irn Bru pop from my home country, but it has a massive frothy/creamy pure white head. Smell wow..its a veritable pine forest on the nostrils..just hop on top of hop all the way, but it is invigorating. .Taste? guess..yes hop city totally, just bitterness..with some honeyish tones..the malts are in hiding in this one..grapefruit for breakfast mom! Its actually quite nice on the palate..not too dry surprisingly. I found this quite drinkable, but to be honest maybe one bomber is enough.
