So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Westmeister’s Birthday Beer Tasting Extravaganza Beer #11. The final beer of this epic day of celebration. This was a good beer, but, in the uber competitive field of IIPA’s, I don’t think this rates near the top. Poured a very pale amber with white head. Scentsof ctirus and alcohol on the nose. Finish was a bit too bitter for me, although the food pairing may have had an effect. Stone’s easy availability and this beer’s low price point for the style will probably lead me to trying it again. Its ok but it’s not spectacular, I was a little disappointed given the reputation this has. Shows that you can believe the self promotion of the brewer. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t bad, its just not ’that’ good!

Pretty delicious. Although, I’m following up a Firestone Double Jack and that’s a tough beer follow. Hops are definitely the overarching theme here. Very smooth; almost a hint of malt in the finish to balance the bitterness. Great beer but not elite.

A nice hoppy aroma almost citrusy with a light malt in the backround. A strong hoppy taste with a bit of the bitterness followed by the maltiness to offset the bitter and hop. The aftertaste is a nice bitter with the malt trying to break thru.

Poured into Dogfish IPA glass. Pours an almost opaque orangey gold with a sudsy head. Deep hop aromas with hints of grapefruit. The taste offers an expert course in delightful bitterness. Medium body with high carbonation. Perhaps not as complex as other brews but overall a spectacular Double IPA and easy to see why it is a staple for many. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

meh... Ive had better IPAs from Stone and better IPAs from other breweries. Its a hop bomb, a good and extremely drinkable hop bomb, but a hop bomb none the less.

Klare dunkel goldgelbe Farbe, fingerbreite weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, reife Früchte, hopfig, leicht harzig. Geschmack kräftig malzig, harzig, Pfirsisch, sehr hopfig, bitter, gut!

This beer pours a cloudy golden color with a small one-finger white head. The aroma hops, pine, juicy citrus. The taste is very hoppy, hop oil, some citrus, and some breadiness. The aftertaste is full of hops and it lingers around. The mouthfeel is on the medium side and drinkability is quite high for this high of ibu.
