So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

This IPA is like a kick in the face. Hops galore, bitterness abounds, it’s absolutely everything an IPA should be. Just make sure not to try and drink your yellow fizzy beer after tasting this. . . it’ll actually taste worse than before.

At just on cool and into a snifter. Produces up a hazy orange with very fine, intermittent carbonation and a tight, compact off-white crown that yields plenty of fine lace. Resinous, herbaceous and bright, whole hops on the nose doused in notes of caramelised orange and apricot, rose water, pine sap, eucalypt, camphor and honeydew - so deep and exciting to the olfactories. Big, brutish mouthfeel, soft frothy and foamy with an oily finish. Again a tumultuous amount of ripe, fresh hops dominate over fleeting toasted and sweet malts. Big, bold, brash herbaceous finish that lasts, all chewy and raw. So much pine, so much resin, so much bitter navel orange and grapefruit, rose water and perfume musk. This is an exciting IPA. There is a touch of sweet and sour sauce, ripe apricot, tangelo and star fruit with lashings of the 8.2% ABV just to remind you to drink irresponsibly. I love it. The best from Stone so far for me. A brilliantly big beer in all aspects. Divine drinking. (12fl.Oz, BB 29/07/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

Bottle. Clear gold. Great hop smell and flavor that slowly turns to solid alcohol as it sits.

Bottle. Clear orange with a medium sized off white head. Pine, dank, white bread, alcohol presence, grapefruit, caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft/medium carbonation, medium sweet and heavy bitter. Astringent finish. Good things in here, but the leafy bitterness in the finish is a bit much. Lots of punch, but not really that pleasant.

Wow! May be 100+ IBUs, but it is so balanced - floral, citrus hops, alcohol - all perfectly combined.

Pours hazy golden into snifter. An assault on the taste buds. Floral/citrusy notes on the nose and tongue. A monster ipa with a more than generous amount of hops. This one stays with you. A fantastic IPA. Come to expect this from stone

Surprisingly smooth malt profile for a double IPA. Not the strongest hops presence, but a great combination.
