In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Pours the usual deep gold of a big IPA with a modest white head. Nose is pungent west coast hops and a little sweetness...just like I like it. The hops aren’t quite as abusive and potent in the flavor, but this is a very well made imperial IPA. Alcohol is totally hidden. A great addition to the hop head’s collection and a step better than the standard Ruination or Ruination 2.0.

Tap at CBM Awajicho. Pours a clear rusty orange with a small off-white head that lingers throughout. Grapefruit zest, yuzu, pine and orange marmalade notes dominate the nose. Good malty sweetness on the palate with more citrus and pine coming through. Finish is a little boozy with a sharp bitterness and more orange marmalade.

Tap@BA Vasagatan. Lass efter lass med tallbarr och kåda. Och så grape, ananas, med ett avslut av en hint anis. Smaken är ren glädje på fat. Besk, jovisst. Stram, japp. Mot slutet liten antydan av maltsötma. Mjuk och len munkänsla. Alkoholbomb med fyllig och lng eftersmak.

650ml brown bottle. Pours out orange, cloudy, golden highlights. Small but creamy white cap and good lace rings. Nose has toffee, citrus, fruit. Taste has sweet malts, toffee, grapefruit, orange and pine. Big bitterness and late alcohol. Good stuff.

Just drinking this makes me want to give it to those folks who say "I don’t like hoppy beers" so I could watch their head implode.

22 oz bottle solo domed while watching Monday Night Football. The pour is a dark orangey copper color, crystal clear with a nice thick white head and a few spots of lace. The aroma is really malty. There is a nice juicy bitterness here from the hop. There is a light fruit and a good balance. The flavor is very bitter up front. There is a light fruit on the immediate front and then a heavy bitterness moves in and takes over. There is a nice malt toward the back end and it remains pretty crisp and clean throughout. The mouth feel is good. There is a big carbonation but it's not bubbly. The aftertaste is lingeringly bitter malt. It's a pretty good balance here. Much more bitter than I was expecting, but it's not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Cloudy dark orange with small whitish foamy head, floral hoppy aroma, medium carbonation, sweet starting taste is overridden by bitter hops, long sticky-bitter finish. Nicely hopped though I have tasted better imperial IPAs.

Pine, citrus, and caramel in the aroma. Bittersweet, fruity, flavor. Great balance between sweet caramel/toffee/apple and bitter citrus and pine. Bitter fruit finish with some drying alcohol. Outstanding.

Pours medium-dark amber with a frothy, white head. Wild lacing. Nose is huge malts and a nose full of hops. Taste is quite bitter, but tamed somewhat by the burly malt load. Medium body, lively carbonation. Excellent brew.
