In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Pours hazy orange with a white creamy head. Aroma of pine, caramel, and maple. Grapefruit and pine flavor with maple sweetness and a sharp hop bite at the end. Blissful.

Hazy orange body with a big white fluffy head. Slightly old at 3 months, but hoping it is still good. Huge malty earth aroma. Some pine smell. Very smooth. I do wonder if the hops have tapered off some because it is more malty and less hoppy than I thought it’d be, but still tastes great. Good amount of sweetness, but still quite bitter. My guess fresh this is great. Today I think it is very good.

Aroma: Resin and floral hops, but a bit faint. Appearance: Clear amber with a nice tan head. Taste: Light bitterness throughout. Palate: Medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation, soft finish. Overall: Meh....the hops are there, but not as aggressive as I expected. I’m a bit disappointed by this beer. I was expecting and over the top IPA, and got something much more bland.

Pours nice hazy honey color . Nice strong IPA , not a beer for wimps . Piney dried fruit taste. True IPA fans will love this beer.

Bottle - Orange and earthy piney hops with some nice caramel. Clear gold with a rich white head. Bright grapefruit, skin and orange with a nice balanced sweetness.

The aroma and appearance may not be perfect (damn good but not perfect) but this beer is just excellent! Flavor's Richlv malti-sweet & that balance nicely with the power of big hops and just the right carbonic tang. Perfect body and finish. Great drinking beer just got to be careful I don't get zonked on it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is citrus, grass, and pine. Taste stands out because the strong alcohol and hop bitterness excite but do not overpower malty citrus base.

Poured from a bomber. Opaque amber with foamy offwhite head. Aroma has tons of caramel malt which mad it a bit difficult for me to discern the hops. Taste is sweet (caramel malt) with hop bitterness coming through in the finish. Heavy mouthfeel. I thought it was a good DIPA, but I thought the malts overshadowed the hops in this one.

Bomber--hmmm, a 100 rated beer? Ok, I’ll go with that. Nice amber color with a medium head and a light amount of lacing. Can’t say there was a huge amount of hops in the aroma and the taste, but I really like that. Aroma was mostly of pine and resin and the taste had a solid amount of malts and bread. A warm, but not overwhelming amount of alcohol. Decent bitterness on the finish. More props to Stone to make high quality bombers for a decent price, keep it up! Total wine.

22 oz. bottle purchased at One Stop Market. Big aroma of citrus, grass and of course that Wes Coast pine, nice!

Flavor is pretty bold and nice for a bottled DIPA. Fresh cut grass upfront with light cracker malt and light syrupy caramel or toffee in the center. Bitter grapefruit and lasting pine in the finish. Also has citrus hops, damn pretty much the whole array of hop flavors are found here. What is impressive is this is over 2 months old now and still real vibrant hops. Shows just small amounts of alcohol flavor which is the only negative in a a great brew.
