4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle 750ml at the Sybarite Pig. Snifter. Pours an amber-golden with haze and thick white head. Aroma is HOPS...pine, resin, fresh grass and weeds. The taste is liquid sex. Mann I loved it. Fresh hops, pine, pine resin, grass, weeds and well balanced with the malts. VERY bitter finish. Dry. Oh so good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft and bottles at 16 Tons Taphouse. Pours foamy, clear medium golden orange. Aroma huge resinous yet fresh, some malty biscuity notes, maybe a bit of grapefruit as well. Body very lively but kind of dank, warming super well-hidden, well-balanced. Bitterness lingers. Not a personal favorite, but I get its appeal.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear copper like a shiney new penny under a generous foamy laceful head, the same hue of slightly yellowed old paper. Nose is amazing with every aroma you could want in an IPA: grapefruit zest, candied orange, sweet rich caramel, fresh picked earthy leafy hops, sticky lupulin, pine resin, and more sweetness. Big underlying candy like sweetness on the nose. Flavor is big and hoppy and very bitter, but not as acidic as some other Stone brews, mercifully. I mean, still very bitter, but it’s a DIPA so it’s forgiveable. Lots of earthy pine resin and dank earthiness start the flavor followed by bitter grapefruit peel and more earthy leafy freshness, quite earthy, with a malty backbone of caramell breadiness and a touch of high alcohol esters. A sipper not only in alcohol, but in potent hoppiness. Gotta take it easy on this, delicious as it is. But this is undeniably the best smelling IPA I ever encountered.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Huge candied citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, herbs and pine, drizzled with honey. Big, bold malt backbone and full body. Surprisingly smooth and balanced for size and alcohol. 10% alc is well hidden. Not overly bitter... as sweet malt cuts the bitterness. Classic West Coast DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2014 Bomber. Clear amber golden pour with an off white head that lasts and laces a bit. Aromas of pine resin, biscuit, spice, citrus, and grapefruit. Taste is an upfront bitter pine resin and spice followed by sweet citrus (pineapple and grapefruit) and malt- ends with a spicy warmth to go with that big 10.8%. Medium bodied, dry and bitter finish. Lingering bitter pine.
