COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002
In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

300th review WOO! Pours a clear, deep golden with a sudsy white head. Aromas of HOPS. Took a sip and my tongue feels like it got slapped by someone holding a fistful of hops. Has a good bit of maltiness as well that I wasn’t expecting but still bitter as hell. Definitely on the same plain as the Ruination and also Green Flash’’s Palate Wrecker, but doesn’t seem to "destroy" my taste buds as much as I thought it would. 300 down, and so many more to go. CHEERS!!!

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with notes of alcohol, onion, chemicals. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, heavily alcoholic. Rather dull aroma doesn’t really say much (and this is assuredly fresh as it just arrived on shelves in the last week or two), surprisingly...and what’s there is tainted with oniony and chemical-ish odors. Not attractive, and hopheads will likely be disappointed by the relative lack of hop bouquet. In the mouth it’s about what you’d expect from a mediocre DIPA...unpleasantly acidic and harshly bitter. While not completely out of character for the style, it’s not a good example by anyone’s definition.

Excellent nose, but I found it to be a bit boozy on the tongue and not as balanced as I would enjoy.

Bottled 6/8/16. Clear amber-gold pour with an awesome off-white head, and retains excellently.
An assertive boquet erupts on the nose; pine resin, toffee malt, papaya, intriguingly roasted, tangerine, navel orange, overall a decent amount of malt presence for a stone brew.
Flavor leads off coniferous, herbal, and a backbone of malt sweetness. Fruit flavors include mango, papaya, lemon curd, dash of lime, and super subtle red apple.
Very dry. No sticky linger. At 10%, that, in and of itself, is a feat. I wouldn’t necessarily buy this again (wee bit past my sweet spot on ABV), but admittedly hops and malts are quite balanced, and it sure is a unique experience.

Clear, amber colored, medium- off white head, not toolasting. Aroma is malty, caramel, some carob, alcohol, strong tropical fruits and some pine. Taste is medium to very sweet malt, caramel, carob, some orange hard candy, tropical fruits, citrus, light pine, medium hoppy aroma, moderate+ bitterness, dry finish, some alcohol and warmth. Medium to full bodied, soft+ carbonation, resiny. Because of the carob and hardcandy I’d say it’s probably not the freshest bottle but still very good.

Bottle, 650ml. A clear amber beer with a small white head. Aroma is ot hops, pine resin and malt. Taste is bitter with a strong hoppy finish. Medium bodied, dry and astrigent. Intense bitter character with a lot of pine and hints of mint with a nice malt character.

Bottle, 65cl. Clear orange with a frothy/creamy tan head. Sticky aromas of floral hops, caramel, pine, alcohol. Medium to robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet with heavy bitterness. Deep roasted flavors into a stupidly bitter hoppy finish. Extravagant and exquisite.

Lagerboy (1857) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 24, 2016
Bomber, bottled on 06/22/15. Clear medium copper, mostly lasting firmer off-white foam. Strong dank oily hoppy aroma and taste, bitter piney citric and resinous, alcohol is prominent, leaner sweet caramel malt. Average carbonation, full bodied, aggressively hopped. Over the top with hop, still be bice to try a fresh one. Much preferred the Ruination. DNFL (Definitely Not for Lagerboys)

ours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready maltsy tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste. This is one hoppy sumbitch. Stone sure knows what they are doing.

Absolute hop bomb. A destructive force to the pallette. That’s about all. It’s pretty balanced in that it’s insanely alcoholic but outside of that it’s what you would expect from one of the ruiners from stone. Very good.

Clear copper pour with nice white head. Really big nose of citrus and caramel candy. Flavor is upside the head with hops that are balance out very nice.
