4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
300th review WOO! Pours a clear, deep golden with a sudsy white head. Aromas of HOPS. Took a sip and my tongue feels like it got slapped by someone holding a fistful of hops. Has a good bit of maltiness as well that I wasn’t expecting but still bitter as hell. Definitely on the same plain as the Ruination and also Green Flash’’s Palate Wrecker, but doesn’t seem to "destroy" my taste buds as much as I thought it would. 300 down, and so many more to go. CHEERS!!!

on tap at the berlinerbierfest 2013 at the very popular american stall. hazy amber with a lingering white head; loads of grapefruit and pine in the aroma; ridiculously bitter after trying a few german pilses and helleses; plenty of grapefruit and caramel brittle; finishes clean. well made but not exactly my thing

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Resin hop aroma with a sweet pine smell. Strong sweet beginning that’s gets moderately bitter quickly. Bitter lasts until the finish then gets a sharp finish.

I don’t know what else I can say about a Stone DIPA that I haven’t already written. I would actually love to have a flight of the Stone DIPA varieties and actually see if there is any difference. All are wonderful examples of big West Coast hoppy ales.

Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2013, Olympia, London Aug 2013 - Deep Amber Gold in colour. Very Very Hoppy; intense, dank, resinous piney hops. Very Fruity; orange, grapefruit and lemon citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple. Spicy. Malty backbone; biscuity malts, caramel. Very bitter hoppy fruity throughout leading to a long bitter finish. Full-bodied but dry. Enjoyed this a lot. Terrific Imperial IPA!

Nice malty caramel scent. Flavor is very citrus with a lot of hop bitterness. Nice additions to already great ruination ipa.

2013-11-29. Lightly hazy bright orange body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma of green hops, tea like notes, caramel. Flavour is fairly bitter, resinous hops over sweetish caramel malt. Lingering bitterness. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Solid. Bottle shared by Blankboy

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aromas of Tropical citrus, vanilla pine and an overwhelming smell on the hops. Pours a good clean copper with a good head. Starts of a tiny bit sweet with hints of oak and vanilla before the hops and bitterness take over a slight citrus after taste. Goes well w/ rum cake

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass. Pours clear amber with a moderate tan head that mostly remains and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has big grapefruit, citrus and pine, along with flowers and caramel malts. The flavour is well balanced up front between caramel malts and citric, piney hops. The hops pick up through the middle and dominate towards the end. It closes out with a long, hoppy finish. It is medium in body with a dryish texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is a nice double IPA, like an amped up version of Ruination. Not as delicate as the base, but a very nice brew. 2013-11-07
