In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is ďA Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,Ē then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

22 oz. bottle from Friar Tuckís poured into a pint glass. Aroma is sweet, heavy malt and light honey up front with a mixture of faint pine and grapefruit hops afterward. Pleasant aroma, but I thought it would be stronger. Pours out a beautiful bright golden color. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 on appearance is the huge foamy head which should be smaller for such a strong beer. Leaves some sticky lacing on the side of the glass. Taste is bitter, but in a good way. The malt sweetness stands up to it at first, but gives up quickly and the aftertaste is all hops. I am not finding it to be that much hoppier than Ruination, despite the higher IBUís. Some alcohol burn, which I donít mind at all. If it werenít for the alcohol, this beer would be a one dimensional hop bomb. Palate is smooth, not overly carbonated. Definitely a sipper, it will take me a while to finish this bottle. Overall, I liked it but there are other strong Imperial IPAís that I like more. Good, not great. It is reasonably priced; Kudos to Stone because they could have jacked up the price due to its high ABV and being an anniversary release.

Bottle from Trader Joe's. Everything about this beer is big and intense -- flavors, IBUs, and alcohol. Pours amber with very little head. Smells floral with strong malt tail. Taste matches beautifully. One of my favorites. You don't taste the 10.8 abv, but I felt it when I stood up!

From a bottle. Pours opaque orange amber with a bubbly frothy off white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like sweet caramel, nutty malt, orange citrus, grapefruit hops, and smooth booze. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like caramel, nutty malt, citrus hops, pine hops, and smooth alcohol.

Poured from the bomber into the pint glass, a nice orange ale. Everything about this beer is strong: hops, flavor, alcohol & description. "A stage dive into the mosh pit of hops" is accurate, or one could say "Itís like a beer elbow to the face". Either way the floor seems closer having drunk this, nice job.

Bomber? Between five of us at the December 2014 Shrewsbury bottle share meeting. Good amber colour, full head on every glass. Hops and more hops, each variety giving it all they have got in a battle for supremacy in both the aroma and taste. I know the brewery is in Southern California, but it should move to íHopsville, Arizonaí if there was such a place!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks DSG. Pours clear orange with a nice beige head, aroma of marmalade, caramel, honey and pineapple, flavor of orange, pineapple, tangerine, caramel, bitter-sweet, medium to full bodied. Great

Awesome beer! Hoppy as hell but it's a bitter hoppiness. Nice aroma, mouthfeel, all that stuff. I really like this beer but for me it's just not the right hop flavor to be one of the all time greats.

Bottle courtesy of Peter Fowler of Shoulder of Mutton fame, many thanks Peter! consumed at home Wednesday 25th February 2015 Pours light amber with a white head, rather sweet but with a furiously bitter bite, strength apparent. Itís a lovely bittersweet beer, warming, hoppy. sweet, with a syrupy /honey edge. Lovely. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

A genuine hop bomb. So many different layers of bitterness and aromatics. I literally felt as though Iíd eaten a hop pellet. Thatís not intended as a negative impression. I enjoyed this one very much.

Bomber @ the Tenth Shrewsbury Bottle share, Dec 14. The night was starting to get a bit blurry by this point so no detailed notes Iím afraid. Lots of hoppy goodness as expected from this brewery and I know it went down well with the group.
