3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from Friar Tuck’s poured into a pint glass. Aroma is sweet, heavy malt and light honey up front with a mixture of faint pine and grapefruit hops afterward. Pleasant aroma, but I thought it would be stronger. Pours out a beautiful bright golden color. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 on appearance is the huge foamy head which should be smaller for such a strong beer. Leaves some sticky lacing on the side of the glass. Taste is bitter, but in a good way. The malt sweetness stands up to it at first, but gives up quickly and the aftertaste is all hops. I am not finding it to be that much hoppier than Ruination, despite the higher IBU’s. Some alcohol burn, which I don’t mind at all. If it weren’t for the alcohol, this beer would be a one dimensional hop bomb. Palate is smooth, not overly carbonated. Definitely a sipper, it will take me a while to finish this bottle. Overall, I liked it but there are other strong Imperial IPA’s that I like more. Good, not great. It is reasonably priced; Kudos to Stone because they could have jacked up the price due to its high ABV and being an anniversary release.

Pours copper with a 2 cm off white head. Hint of citrus hops, pine hops that vary in intensity with time. The hops linger on the tongue for many many minutes after swallowing. Not overpowering until after finishing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Slightly hazy deep golden with an off-white head. Aroma of hops - piney, resinous, with a light weedy note and some malt in background. Flavor starts malty and sweet, biscuity and a bit caramelly, continues with piney and resinous hops and a bitter finish. Rounded mouthfeel, a bit oily. Good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours very hazy orange with lots of foamy white head. Aroma is heavy on the citrus and pine, very nice. Nice heavy malty backbone of caramel and toffee. On the hop side it is pretty bitter with alot of pine and citrus and also a little tropical fruit / melon. Yum.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy orange body with a big white fluffy head. Slightly old at 3 months, but hoping it is still good. Huge malty earth aroma. Some pine smell. Very smooth. I do wonder if the hops have tapered off some because it is more malty and less hoppy than I thought it’d be, but still tastes great. Good amount of sweetness, but still quite bitter. My guess fresh this is great. Today I think it is very good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Resin and floral hops, but a bit faint.
Appearance: Clear amber with a nice tan head.
Taste: Light bitterness throughout.
Palate: Medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation, soft finish.
Overall: Meh....the hops are there, but not as aggressive as I expected. I’m a bit disappointed by this beer. I was expecting and over the top IPA, and got something much more bland.

4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
The aroma and appearance may not be perfect (damn good but not perfect) but this beer is just excellent! Flavor's Richlv malti-sweet & that balance nicely with the power of big hops and just the right carbonic tang. Perfect body and finish. Great drinking beer just got to be careful I don't get zonked on it.
