COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In spring 2011, Stone bought the farm, literally, taking over 19 acres of fertile Southern California soil where we now grow pristine fruits, vegetables, herbs and more for our Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens restaurants. A taste of our homespun farm-to-tableism is provided in this farmhouse ale stoked with lemon zest, plus lemon thyme and lavender straight from Stone Farms. This spring-to-summer saison is citric and herbal on the palate with a dry, peppery finish. Thanks to the infusion of fresh West Coast ingredients, this isn’t your everyday saison. It’s our saison—100% Stone. Celebrate the sunny season with an authentic taste of our farm and, with it, our commitment to quality.

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey - Londkn. Pours clear yellow-gold with a big, fluffy white head. Nice crispy wheat in the nose with accents of herbs and dry saison yeast. Medium sweet flavor with nips of alcohol, pale bread, biscuits, grass, hay, lemon. Medium bodied with active carbonation. Light warmth to finish, some pale bready sugars, mild herbal bitterness, some meringue, hints of pepper. Tasty.

Aroma is sweet malt, floral, lemon. It kinda reminds me of dish soap.... but I still like it so far. Appearance is golden copper, clear with small off white head. Taste is lavender flower and lemon forward. Some spicy earthy hops. Palate is medium and the dish soap lingers. Overall this doesn’t work for me. The flavors are pronounced but it reminds me of the soap I use to wash my dishes.

Bottled on 05 / 21/2015. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a soft hazy burnt orange with a slight transparency about it. A slim white quarter finger’s worth of foamy head quickly dissipated into the beer. The smell started off with a sharp sweet breadiness with an ample amount of coriander, thyme, lavender, and graced gently with an underscore of lemon zest. The taste started off semi-spicy with the breadiness becoming slightly sweet. A light sweet bready aftertaste accompanies into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued but made the feel semi-smooth over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good saison - Stone style! I’d have this again.

A golden yellow with a medium white head on the pour. Aroma of sweet honey citrus and spiced herbs. Taste same with some dry spiced peppery hops and grains. A medium body with good crisp carbonation. Finish is sweet honey herbs, some biscuit malt, yeast, citrus zesty lemon notes with a dry spiced peppery hops bitterness for balance. Overall an ok Saison, not bad for summer drinking.

355ml bottle pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that fades quickly to leave only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with some lemon zest and floral notes. Taste is a big malty sweetness with a light lemon tartness and spicy dry finish. Light bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a very easy drinking brew, a little bit of a disappointment, as I was expecting a little more taste and body coming from these guys.

A golden color with a beige head. Aroma is full of spices and herbs with a lemon. The flavor is very spicy with a bit of a sour flavor. Some pepper shows up in the finish. The aftertaste is very dry. Overall this a very good saison.

This beer is the worst beer I have ever paid for. It taste like a holiday potpourri in a bottle. Stay away from this toilet bowl water.

Appearance: clear deep gold, a couple fizzy white bubbles that fade to nothing; looks slick and slightly oily. Aroma: prominent yeast and lemon, a dose of floral honey, and that’s about it. Taste: yeasty and sweet, with honey, lavender, and lemon. Finish: a little hot, kind of boozy, with thick sweetness (for the style) giving way to aggressive dryness. Notes: Not my favorite. I like my saisons with a lively body, balanced dryness, delicate yeast, and a refreshing level of alcohol. This was pretty much in direct contrast. Wasn’t bad per se, just not what I look for in the style. Bottle courtesy of Derek at Beerble Study.
