In spring 2011, Stone bought the farm, literally, taking over 19 acres of fertile Southern California soil where we now grow pristine fruits, vegetables, herbs and more for our Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens restaurants. A taste of our homespun farm-to-tableism is provided in this farmhouse ale stoked with lemon zest, plus lemon thyme and lavender straight from Stone Farms. This spring-to-summer saison is citric and herbal on the palate with a dry, peppery finish. Thanks to the infusion of fresh West Coast ingredients, this isnít your everyday saison. Itís our saisonó100% Stone. Celebrate the sunny season with an authentic taste of our farm and, with it, our commitment to quality.

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium foamy white head. Aroma is fruity, herbal. Taste is fruity, herbal and lot of spices. But also had the feeling there was a bit of floor cleaner in there, so thatís why I canít say Iím a big fan.

355 ml bottle. Hazy orange with a rocky white head that collapses to a cap. Aromas of lemon, lime juice, flowers, pepper and fresh cut grass. Taste delivers everything from the aroma with an amped up lemon zest note. Clean finish leads to a spicy aftertaste. Not your archetypal saison but a decent beer all the same.

Golden beer with a foamy head and a sour fruit aroma. It does taste strong but not overly so. Sour and fruity taste with a tangy citrus hit to it. Crisp and could have gone being a touch colder. Really nice though.

Bottle. Bright straw colored pour, sparkling clarity, and a finger of white head. Aroma is heavy yeast, fruity, and light cloves. Pretty heavy spice at first sipÖ Iím finding it to be a little bitter and slightly sour. Juniper comes to mind, maybe spruce. A bit of lemon. Lively.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Delirium Noel tulip glass. Aroma of lavender, thyme, lime and orange zest, honey and grains. Significa nt carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of rich grains, various field herbs, lavender, minerals, esters of licorice, earth, hay, oak. Overall rich, complex, spicy with a dry finish.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, lemon, spice aroma. Tastes similar, lemon, spice, yeasty, slightly sweet. Enjoyable saison.

Keg, Brewdog Leicester. Golden with an off white head. Dry cracker with yeast and mellow lemon. Peppery with strong mineral character and hints of coriander. Quite spicy, even a bit hot with musty barnyard. Floral with citrus bitterness and dry woodiness. Quite ephemeral in a way, just goes away, but good while itís there.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very hazy golden yellow color and topped by a huge rocky head of off white foam that shows good rentention. The foam slowly recedes and leaves patches of lace around the glass. The aroma is very herbal showing notes of coriander, lemon zest, thyme, lavender, and pepper. Toasted bread malts and yeast make their way through as well. The flavor follows and shows a lot of floral components along with the lemon citrus, bready malts, coriander, and dry pepper spice. The thyme and lavender are prevalent lending to the floral nature. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a lengthy, slightly dry and peppery finish. Decent overall, but not what Iím looking for in a saison.
