COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In spring 2011, Stone bought the farm, literally, taking over 19 acres of fertile Southern California soil where we now grow pristine fruits, vegetables, herbs and more for our Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens restaurants. A taste of our homespun farm-to-tableism is provided in this farmhouse ale stoked with lemon zest, plus lemon thyme and lavender straight from Stone Farms. This spring-to-summer saison is citric and herbal on the palate with a dry, peppery finish. Thanks to the infusion of fresh West Coast ingredients, this isnít your everyday saison. Itís our saisonó100% Stone. Celebrate the sunny season with an authentic taste of our farm and, with it, our commitment to quality.

2014 release 12oz bottle sitting pretty in a wine glass. Golden yellow tone with a dense white head and aromatics jumping out the glass. Upon the first smell I get flash backs to Saison Du Buff which is probably the thyme and peppery yeast in play. Floral lavender, a touch of eggy sulfur and bright citrus are also present. The flavors are nice and balanced with a spicy dry finish, I really enjoyed it.

Fruity with lemon, thyme and other spices. Some earthiness and funk. More hoppy than most. Duh. Light coloring with a nice foamy head. Pleasant.

Keg at Man in the Moon, Stockholm. Clear golden, coarse head. Perfumy lavender aroma. Mid sweet with medium body rounded, spritzy mouthfeel. Some marzipan, lots of lavender, notes of coriander. Fruity and quite shallow with excessive carbonation. Low bitterness. Dominated by spices.

Bottle from Spirit of Mt. Seymour, North Vancouver
Hazy golden color with small head. Light, dry, smooth beer, very refreshing, with a strong spicy character, starting from the coriander. I will remember this one more as a Spice Beer than a Saison, but itís very good.

2015 bottle. Pours a very hazy golden yellow color and topped by a huge rocky head of off white foam that shows good rentention. The foam slowly recedes and leaves patches of lace around the glass. The aroma is very herbal showing notes of coriander, lemon zest, thyme, lavender, and pepper. Toasted bread malts and yeast make their way through as well. The flavor follows and shows a lot of floral components along with the lemon citrus, bready malts, coriander, and dry pepper spice. The thyme and lavender are prevalent lending to the floral nature. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle - nose is wild grass. Sip adds grass, grain and toast. Not what I call a saison but more of a very hoppy Pilsner. Maybe the next one will be better.
