In spring 2011, Stone bought the farm, literally, taking over 19 acres of fertile Southern California soil where we now grow pristine fruits, vegetables, herbs and more for our Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens restaurants. A taste of our homespun farm-to-tableism is provided in this farmhouse ale stoked with lemon zest, plus lemon thyme and lavender straight from Stone Farms. This spring-to-summer saison is citric and herbal on the palate with a dry, peppery finish. Thanks to the infusion of fresh West Coast ingredients, this isnít your everyday saison. Itís our saisonó100% Stone. Celebrate the sunny season with an authentic taste of our farm and, with it, our commitment to quality.

2014 release 12oz bottle sitting pretty in a wine glass. Golden yellow tone with a dense white head and aromatics jumping out the glass. Upon the first smell I get flash backs to Saison Du Buff which is probably the thyme and peppery yeast in play. Floral lavender, a touch of eggy sulfur and bright citrus are also present. The flavors are nice and balanced with a spicy dry finish, I really enjoyed it.

12 oz bottle. 2014 edition. Pours a clear gold color with a white head that settles to a film. Aroma is mostly sour with some herbal grassy notes in the back. Light-medium body with some lively carbonation on the tongue. Goo balance of sweet malt and herbs - some lemon, lavender and spices. Zesty finish that hangs with you for a bit. Nice interpretation.

On tap at Martinís West in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is spicy yeast, floral perfume, clove bubblegum and other belgian-style funks. Taste is lemon rinds, some floral and spiced gum with a nice hoppy / bitter finish. Definitely felt like a Stone saison and I like their point of view on this one.

2014/08/23 - Pours a hazy, orange-honey colour with a foamy white head that quickly vanishes. Moderate lacing. Aroma is lemon, funk, yeast esters, coriander, spice and floral notes. Taste is lemon, funk, yeast, earthy notes, pepper, coriander and more floral and herbal notes. Mouthfeel is thin to medium with lively carbonation and a crisp, drying finish. Light and refreshing. Found it more floral than most saisons. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. i love busted six pack areas of beer stores. allows me to pay a bit more for a single, but not risk 10 bucks on an unknown quantity. so that brings us to this: pours a hazed effervescent yellow. can smell the spices from a ways off. lavender and thyme are very apparent. floral flavor with something like melon or some cucumber stuff iíve had in the past. bit of a waxy mouthfeel. the coating on my tongue is not pleasant. i like the flavor well enough, nice spicey yeast finish is good. but it is the mouthfeel that makes this a one time purchase for me.
