COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

22oz bomber purchased at Stone. Pours lite orange with a small fizzy white head around the rim of the glass. nose is fruity, sweet, grainy, spice (ginger, cinnamon, clove). flavors are similar but exhibit the wet grains pretty highly-long spicy finish. lots of sweet cinammon as well. a Trippel? i see this is a a slighly strong belgian ale. palate is a bit too soft for a tripel as well as the ABV being low. palate seems a bit thin and doesnt realy do much here. At least the carbonation is lower than most belgian stone offerings. the finish is long-sweet grains and lite clove notes.

22oz bomber thanks to OldStyleCubFan! I’ve never even heard of this beer. So what’s the story with it? Anyway, pours blonde with a decent white head. Not much retention or lace. Aroma is laden with cloves, overripe bananas. Taste is very sweet, loads of candi sugar, bananas, red apples. Dry, powdery, messy finish.

Thanks to Todd for sharing this one. Deep gold pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy with notable hints of pear and apple. Flavor is spicy; clove, nutmeg, camomile, tropical fruit and grassy hops.

Bottle shared by Badbeer. The beer pours a blonde color with a medium head. The aroma is fruity with some berries some currant and some camomile, a really interesting mix. The flavor is very fruity and spicy, more of that camomile comes through. Tasty

Beautiful golden color and vivacious scent. Slight sweetness characteristic of Tripel style, but not overpowering. Pronounced Eastern aftertaste - ginger, nutmeg, jasmine, but these are most apparent when the beer is fresh from a tap. Delicious.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2010 On tap at Stone. I’ve had this in bottles as well and it tasted just as good as on tap. This is my favorite beer. I can drink this any time anywhere. This beer was very flavorful. Mild aromas. Flavor was sweet and spicy. The taste kind of reminded me of pear, nutmeg and jasmine. Many other fruits and holiday tasting spices. I highly recommend this one.

Bomber - pours a light hazed bright golden yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is fresh lemon and cardamon spices, yeasty, doughy crackery light honey, toast, green peppercorn phenolics with light fruitiness- apple, pear, apricot. Flavor is spicy lemongrass, zesty, leather and earth, not too sweet- crackery malts, toast, light honey, floral and light fruits some citrus as well- mostly clean in the end. Pretty good.

Location: 22 oz bottle at Stone, 1/4/10

Aroma: Aroma of Belgian yeast, pear, banana, and spice
Appearance: Cloudy yellow color, small off-white head
Flavor: Mostly sweet and spice malt flavor, light bitterness
Palate: Very smooth with medium body and well hidden ABV
Overall Impression: Overall, this makes for a pretty nice sweet Belgian style Tripel. Another very solid beer from Stone, and it certainly makes everything taste better when you drink it in a place as cool as the Stone Bistro. Nicely done.

Bottle:   Vibrant straw, clear but with some sediment, moderate to small sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Dusty nose, a little mealy and cardboard.   Not bad but seems past its prime.   Yeah, cardboard and mealy type malts on the tongue.   Should have drank this one sooner.   Bready, but in that wet cardboard sort of fashion.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes okay, not as bright as I would have imagined it should have been.   Lingering cardboard.   I waited too long to try this one, but decent otherwise.   Thanks Bob for this freebie from one of my first trades.   Been cherishing this one for a while.   Should have drank this sooner.
