2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a thin head on a black body.
The aroma is roasted malt with a quick hit of chipotle pepper smoke at the end.
The taste gets lost between the smoke and chili, neither which is overpowering. Itís a bit watery with a pepper taste. The chipotle comes back at the end for a warm finish.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
I like chili beers, but this just didnít mix well together.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear brown with 1 inch of beige foam that settle to a medium wisp with spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, smoke, and chipotle heat. Flavor is same with lingering chipotle finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice to try, but a bit hot for my taste - maybe best to share.

This beer is delicious! Full roasty porter with the perfect amount of spicy kick from the peppers. Had a bit more kick than I was expecting but it was subtle and finished nice.

On tap at the Gingerman. Dark brown pour with a kaki head. Mild chili aromas. Some serious heat in the finish. Mild smoke and dark roasted malt notes. That chili will kick you In the ding ding. Average body. Good mouthfeel.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted at Jasonís anti-Homebrew-Club gathering. It poured a very dark reddish-brown colour with huge beige foam, long-lasting with lace. It starts as a tasty modern American-style porter: bready, toasty, roasty, hints of fruit, chocolate, coffee, and a relatively dry finish. But a cool blend of smoky chili peppers and smoky malt sweetness creep-up at the end. Nowhere near as spicy as Stone Crime & Punishment, but more balanced and drinkable. Some of the other guys complained it wasnít smoky enough, wasnít spicy enough, wasnít sweet enough, but those were the exact reasons I enjoyed it so much. Imaginative, well-crafted and extremely tasty.

3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very unpleasant aroma. Bitter almost leather smell. Speckled, light brown and smallish head. Dissipates fairly quickly. Smoked peppers are definitely present but not overdone. Like the lingering spiciness on the lips. I appreciate the effort, but ultimately would rather eat chipotle peppers than drink them.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours the deepest mahogany into the glass, with a beige head that diminishes over time, leaving ring lace. The nose is of smoke and nice roasted malts. smokey-sweet caramel meets a finish of nice chipotle pepper spice. The capsaicin is not overdone in the finish, making for a nice quaff to a summer brew. Very even keel, this is very drinkable even in the warmest of weather. Great job!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pour is deep black with a light tan head Aroma is dark chocolate, caramel, a hint of coffee and spice. Taste is chocolate and coffee with a slight vanilla note. Back end has the chipotle and the smokey malt. The peppers are very subtle but at the same time very detectable. Good version of this beer, good for sitting around a campfire.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Large bottle from BrewDog Nottingham. Deep black Brown colour with a lasting foamy tan head. The aroma certainly has the smoky heat from the chipotle chilli. Taste is chocolate and roast alts, with a deep warm smoky finish, that didnít overpower the beer.

I love the pepper finish of this delicious smoked porter! Stone did a beautiful job with the heat of the peppers in this brew so that they donít over power the taste of the smokiness!
