Tap @ Black Sheep, MPLS. Deep brown pour with a prominent tan head. Somewhat hazy. Toasted marshmallow and vanilla. Mellow smoked malts. Nice sweet/earthy profile. Taste is fairly rich. Generally sweet, some umami. Brown sugar, light smoke. Burnt caramel. Sort of oily. Pretty nice stuff.

Smells weird. Strange roasty scent with maybe some vanilla. I was expecting this to be gross since Iím not exactly Stoneís #1 fan, but this actually isnít bad at all. Notes of mild roast and a creamy soft vanilla character. Extremely mild smoke thankfully. There is a bit of a minerally character in there though. Lighter body, medium carbonation, and some foam.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep dark brown with a slight off-white head from a bottle. Aroma of chocolate and caramel/toffee. Flavor of dark chocolate and smoked wood, a little thin in the mouth IMHO. Good beer.

Nice vanilla beer. Dark brown. A little sweet, but overall nice balance of vanilla, chocolate, and smoked malts. Nothing amazing, but very solid and drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one pours a hazy dark brown color that is mostly transparent when held to the light. The body is topped a smooth head of tan colored foam that slowly recedes to a thin film. The aroma is really nice showing notes of bakers chocolate, smoke, and a nice sweetness from the vanilla beans. The flavor follows suit with dark and bakerís chocolate up front along with sweet vanilla and a touch of smoke. There is just the right amount of bitterness on the back end to balance out the sweetness. Medium bodied and smooth with balanced carbonation leading to a sweet vanilla finish. Really nice beer and a great addition to the base beer. Good stuff.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a clear light black color porter with a large light brown foamy head. Aroma of light chocolate notes with light smoky note notes with some vanilla undertones are pleasant. Taste is a mix between chocolate malt notes offset by some vanilla with discreet smoky flavors. Body is thinner then I was hoping for with good carbonation. Well brewed and easy to drinking but lacks some depth and body to be truly great.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a black with an off white head. Aroma is all smoke but not overly intense. Taste is roasted malts with a little smokiness. Not overly impressed with this beer, I love Porters and this was just ok. Thin and lacked any real flavor.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Initially taken by the way the vanilla rounds the porter bitterness. An all around pleasant drinking experience. Only knock against this is a slightly metallic finish. Pours out a nice dark brown, with a medium airy, frothy beige head. Aroma of vanilla somehow tricks the mind into thinking chocolate. taste has the vanilla rounding out the roast grains, mild sweetness with bitterness lingering in the background. Overall nice presentation.
