Pours black w/ tan head. Mouthfeel is typical for a porter. Not a strong smoked flavor, but the vanilla comes through nicely. Reminded me more of a stout with the chocolate and darker malts.

pours black with a nice tan head. Spotty lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. The smoke is very light in the aroma and is predominantly a vanilla sweetness. The flavor has that band aid quality that I don’t find appealing. Light smoke, chocolate, and very sweet vanilla. Medium body. Medium carbonation and a fizzy mouth feel. Short bitter finish. was hoping this would be better.

Small off white head atop a deep brown body. Nose of ash and vanilla. Flavour of burnt chocolate and vanilla bean. Really tasty.

I still think it’s weird that I can buy Stone here whenever I want. 2014. Thick and smoothly soft nose of sweet vanilla and hints of tea. Sitting in my glass for over an hour at this point. Mocha, smooth chewy smoke not yet at the liquid smoke level or at anything burnt. Tasty and ultra easy to put back now. Cold - different story - 2 sips and I knew this needed to sit to improve. Mocha, appealing vanilla, smooth teeth, caramel, milk choco with a hint of bakers on the aftertaste, faint berries, some ash on the finish. Highly drinkable after those initial out of the fridge thin sips. Solid and just beyond simple. Really digging the mouth on this bizatch.

Nice blend of vanilla bean sweetness and smoked malts. Notes of burnt chocolate, caramelized sugar and cream. Well carbonated.

Bottle from Epsom Circle Market. Nice vanilla aroma. Appearance is clear dark reddish brown with 1 finger-sized off white head and nice lacing. Taste is nice vanilla with balance of sweet and bitter, but I don’t get any smokiness. Palate is medium to full bodied with lively (a little too lively) carbonation that initially stings the tip of the tongue a little bit--as it mellows in the glass you get a creaminess at the back of the mouth. Finish is slightly bitter and long. Overall, based on all of the praise for this I expected a little bit more. It is still very good but not the stellar offering we usually come to expect from this brewer.

A disgusting beer, a bad mix, don’t know what the guys (and gals) at Stone were thinking, is a vanil barf bomb.

Un bomber acheté dans le Maine. Une robe brune foncée avec une mousse beige. Un nez plus fumé que vanillé. Une bouche agréable, ronde avec une touche de fumée et une finale iodé avec des notes de vanille. Agréable sans plus.

Pours dark brown with an off white head. Aroma is roasted smoky malt with vanilla and chocolate. Dark, smoky, roasted malt flavor with dark cocoa, vanilla bean and a smoky, dark roasted bitter finish.

Bottle: wasn’t as big of a fan of this as I was hoping I would be. I think it needed a bit more roastiness to balance out the sweet vanilla to me. Just didn’t sit right on my palate.
