For some reason this reminds me of play-doh. Oddly vanilla and doughy with no real porter characteristics. The vanilla is too strong and odd.

Pours black with a two finger tan head. Aroma of light coffee, a bit of smoke, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is roasted malt upfront, vanilla, and finishes with dark chocolate and smoke at the end. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy with low to medium carbonation. Overall this is a good beer. For me I think it might have been better without the smoke but still a solid beer.

On draft at Churchills Pub. I really loved the obvious about this one and that is the vanilla bean. The vanilla flavors are subtle, but just right and the smokiness was perfect.

Better than the chipotle version. This beer was delicious. While the chipotle version was all smoke and no pepper, this is all vanilla and no smoke. Aroma was OK. Mostly light vanilla with roasted malt. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thin tan film for a head. Taste was all vanilla and roasted malt. Very good balance between sweet vanilla and bitter coffee/chocolate flavors. The vanilla won and carried through into the aftertaste with a milky sweet finish. Medium carbonation. Good beer.

Black pour with a thin but sticky-foamy light beige head. Aroma is succulent with notes of vanilla, cold pressed coffee, and a healthy dose of sweet cocoa. Flavor tastes like a chocolate version of vanilla bean ice cream, and is so dang delicious. Nice whiff of light roastiness and light coffee throughout, but overall, is basically vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate. Wonderful!

August 2012. 22 oz. bottle. Pours blank with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and a hint of smoke. The vanilla adds a bit of sweetness on the palate before the bitter finish sets in. Excellent beer.
