Beer is dark brown complete with a noisy tan very tall crown. Aroma is nothing special...... I feel sad now. Old coffee grounds, some chocolate, no trace of the vanilla in the nose. Maybe smoke....? I can taste vanilla, chocolate, mild smoke. Kind of watery. Clean finish. Excellent boring beer.

Pours a clear dark brown with a light brown head. The head is frothy at first but goes down pretty quickly. Aroma is lightly smoked with a light vanilla finish - slightly sweet smelling. The aroma is not as strong as I would have expected given the beer’s name and expected characteristics. I appreciate that this beer isn’t over smoked but the vanilla flavors is a bit sweet and overpowering. Overall, that flavor kind of ruins the beer for me.

Such a great beer. Poured into a glass. Little head. Smells delicious and the vanilla is prominent.

Bottle, deep brown, light light brown head faded. Aroma is toasted barley, dark fruit, vanilla. Taste is milk chocate and vanilla, coffee, with tbat toasted barley bitter finish. Almost sweet, then finishes dry. Palate is nice, not watery, not syrupy. Carbonation subdued, as is the vanilla. This beer has balance. Nice.

650ml bottle. Enjoy by 03/25/14. Oops. Pours a deep ruby/black with a thin head. Aroma has nice notes of roasted malts, coffee, smoke, and burnt vanilla. Taste is bitter. Dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and just "burnt". Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth. Overall tasty but would probably be better fresh. Smoke, burnt vanilla, dark chocolate.

I’m not too sure about the hype for this one as even though it is the good stone smoked porter that I’m used to there is only a hint of the vanilla bean. For me that vanilla bean could be a lot stronger as it is juts there in the aroma and barely on the palate. There are a lot of other vanilla porters out there that are better such as one by breckinridge brewery. The beer is okay but probably not the best for this style.

Poured a deep, dark brown with an over excessive light brown head which took some time to allow a sip.......aroma of soap and vanilla sugar......taste starts smooth with a light to medium mouthfeel of wet grain, coffee, smoke and finishing with light vanilla bitterness. Too thin to really enjoy.

650ml bottle pours black in color with a finger of light beige head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate and light roasted grains with a hint of smoke. Taste is vanilla with a chocolate malt sweetness and a light roasted grain and hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with mild carbonation. A quality crafted porter that will satisfy most.

Bottle to pint glass Dark chocolate, coffee, lactose, loads of malt, and only a hint of vanilla. Dark amber brown with a creamy 1 cm tan head. Taste is chocolate and vanilla, grains, burnt coffee, late hoppy bitterness. This is medium and a little thin for a stout.
