3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a dark reddish brown with a dark tan head and good lacing. Nose; smoke, maple and wood come to me first, subtle hops and vanilla. Mouth; bitter wood, smokey maple with trailing hops, malts and subtle vanilla. Finish; interesting attempt, I think the smokeyness is there but the vanilla is light. Not my style of beer...but I think they accomplished what they were trying to. Try it once...at least.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark black with thick tan head. Smell is smoked cedar coffee and vanilla. Taste is bitter with a cigar flavor, notes of dark coffee and vanilla. Havey body, medium carbonation. Don’t usually like porters but this one is pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tastes like Stone Smoked Porter, with a subtle Vanilla flavor. Pretty standard. The regular smoked porter never really stuck out to me, this is no exception. Not bad, didn’t blow my mind.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Brown pour with a red hue. Large, foamy off white head. Aroma is as advertised, primarily smoke with a hint of vanilla. Initial flavor is creamy, burnt vanilla while a semi-bitter coffee, smoke flavor really comes out in the finish. Average carbonation with a somewhat dry texture. The vanilla gets lost in the overpowering smokey flavor. Not bad but I expected a little better.

22oz bottle. clear brown with a frothy tan head. hints of milk chocolate and smoke with a wet vanilla bean in the aroma. the vanilla comes through in the flavor as unsweet, raw and fresh. layered on top of smoke and dark chocolate. a tasty take on an old classic.

Had a glass on tap as part of a flight at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor. Gross. Sweet. Artificial. Ugh.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours almost black with a small thick head. Smoke flavor considerably more mellow than the standard Smoked Porter. Very thick and a bit sweet, almost as if a scoop of vanilla ice cream had been melted in the normal porter. Little bit of bitterness at the end. Dry finish. Verges on being dessert beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light brown color. Sweet vanilla, nutty, chocolately nose. Very malt mouth with lots of vanilla and chocolate hazelnut fudge. A bit too sweet for my liking but not bad.

Sampled at 4 Hands. A lot of red in this beer. A smoky aroma is kind of meaty. The flavor is also big smoke with big malts. Not sure this works for me. Glad it was just a sample.
