sigma23 (217), , Maine, USA Apr 4, 2009 pours black with small tan head. aroma is really rich smokey malts and coffee pushing through. thinner then i expected, but drinks nice and full. subtle hops, smoked coffee, and a little chocolate round out this great smoked porter. finishes clean with short lasting after taste. hophead21112 (110), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2009 Pours a non-opaque black with two-finger tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nice lacing. Aroma of smokey coffee, some hops. Light body, with medium low carbonation. Taste is slightly smokey, maybe a little chocolate? Lacking complexity. Not as full bodied as I expected, a little disappointed. Good thing I only paid $4.50 for a bomber. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Apr 3, 2009 If you thief any of TC’s fuckin’ beats, right
We will send ’round the most murkiest murkmen from Murkton
On a Monday, which is a murky day
And we will fucking murk you, right?
We’re not talkin’ no normal sway back
Patrick Swayze, nice and easy, ballet dancing, lemon squeezy
Style, yeah?
We’re talking murky
We’re talking pea souper, we’re talking fog, darkness
We’re coming ’round your house
We’ll murder your fish, your dog, your cat
Animal, vegetable, mineral
Listen, we’ll come ’round and fuck you up
That’s what I’m saying, yeah?
We ain’t playing, pal
It’s just a dirty little vibe, yeah?
If you fuckin’ touch this fuckin’ vibe mates
I’ll stick your neck in
OK
Deep like Titanic, make the dance panic
That one a penny, two a penny, vibe you can’t manage
Bo! Pure nasty habit, sadness I can’t have it
Do your move, bust your style, raver dance rapid
Gidabiddy hiddabiddy gidabiddy beat on the flow that’s so savage
Uncle TC and Mr. Jakes, that spells damage
We run things from here to trinity, oh, we damn flashy
Over breakbeat, SK, salsa or tough garage
Hip-hop, even if you’re stiff dead in a carriage
True to the dead one that left with a ratchet
Wrap your head around this stuff, kid, you can’t nap it
It’s the rough-rugged, ever-ready raw-core classic
phukktifano (159), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 2, 2009 Deep black with large tan head. Aroma was smoke, spice, roast and malt. Flavor as all of that and dark chocolate. Rich, smooth and complex. Brewsmith (136), Torrance, California, USA Apr 2, 2009 From a 22 oz bottle purchased locally poured into a 0.5 L glass. Aroma is roasty chocolate with some peat coming through. Deep dark brown with ruby barely peeking through, almost black with a big rocky tan head. Dry, roasty dark chocolate flavor with the smoke in the background, not overpowering. Evenly balanced with hop bitterness making it smooth and easy drinking. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 30, 2009 22 oz bottle. One of my favorite porters. smoked, chocolate. nice head! puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Mar 28, 2009 Poured a deep black with a thick lasting tan head. Good lacing. Aroma is rough and seems to be confused by itself though it is no indication of the rest of the beers qualities. Once the beer enters the mouth a harmonious blend of chocolate, coffee, sweet toffee, figs, and smoke. I was expecting a smokier beer such as alaskan but was very impressed by the balance achieved in this beer. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy with a subtle bitterness that cuts through the sweetness. LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Mar 26, 2009 Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, smoked peated malts, and some coffee. The taste of the peated malts hits you first, then the lovely roasted malts follows along with some coffee flavor peeking through as well. This brew has a wonderful smokey aftertaste as well. What a great Porter!
