A great porter from Stone Brewery Co.
A: roasted malts, caramel smell, coffee taffy vibe.
A: 3 finger caramel head, dark brown color with a light dark ruby red hue at the bottom of glass, nice creamy lacing, and had minimal carbonation.
T: Taste smoked coffee beans like a mocha with bitter hops.
P: roasted malts from the front to middle of the palate then a nice bitter hop taste at the back of the palate.
O: I would drink this during the winter time not at a bbq.

I had such high hopes for this beer. I love porter and I love smokey beers so how could this go wrong? Sadly, I was wrong.
The beer pours black with light tan head that is big, 3 fingers high with good retention and lacing.
The aroma is really light and doesn’t bring forth nice smokiest that you would expect. The smoke is there just really light with a tad of chocolate.
The taste is really super light as well, you can barely get any smoke at all and just a light coffee taste.

Guest keg at BrewDog Edinburgh. Very dark brown with an off-white head. Light coffee, charcoal, sweet liquorice nose. Rich and sweet. Smoky flavour is subtle but lovely. Light bitter finish. Very nice indeed.

22 oz. bottle from Oades Big Ten
Ar: Toasty roasty aroma with a background of smoke.
Ap: Deepest black pour with a rich, fluffy cinnamon head. Excellent lace along with great retention.
T: Relatively dry stout (well, relative to the Bells Double Cream I had a couple hours ago), with a deep roasty flavor. Smoke is complementary; it comes through but does not dominate.
P: Creamy body with relatively mild carbonation.
O: Delicious!

Aroma: Chocolate, Caramel, Coffee, and Toasted Malts
Appearance: Black with tan head that dissipates too quickly.
Taste: Medium sweet with light bitterness, but no real depth here.
Palate: Full body, dry texture, light carbonation, long finish
Overall: It’s good, and obviously well thought out and crafted. The smoke is not overpowering, which is a good thing. Still, it seemed very one dimensional taste wise.

650ml bottle.
It pours a nice dark brown with some reddish hues, the head is thick and foamy. The head is slightly tan. It holds for a bit then recedes to some pretty nice lacing.
It smells like an IPA with some brown sugar thrown in, Stone loves their hops huh. There is a hint of roastiness but much less than expected.
The flavor isn’t hoppy bitter, but it has a considerable amount of hop flavor. There is also a hint of smokiness and some caramel sweetness.
It is a bit mixed up but overall it is a decent brew.

Mild smokey aroma. Blackish-brown in color with a tan head. Smokey but just right, not overpowering like most smoked ales. Chocolatey tones, a great porter.

Bottle. My second smoked beer. Thought this one was good. Poured deep, dark black with a tan head. Smelled like a day old camp fire mixed with heaps of chocolaty malt. Taste was similar but well balanced overall. I like it.
