3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
100th rating-Poured a deep rich brown some reds around the edges where the light wants to come through. Quickly diminishing tan head. Aroma is of light smoke(suprisingly subtle) with hints of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is nicely done smoke does not overpower the senses. Good smoked peat flavor that is accompanied by chocolates and coffee. Really developes toward the finish. Excellent!

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Excellent smoked porter- rich, smooth and just a hint of chocolate and smoke. Not much smokiness in the aroma though. Very dark with beige head. Better than Stone brewery's Arrogant Bastard Ale, however the back of the Smoked Porter bottle is less entertaining than it's cousin's. This brew is very filling, but would be paired nicely with some creamy scalloped potatoes, butternut squash soup or chocolate cake. Highly reccomend.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black in color with a fothy brown head. Aroma is malt, smoke, and chocolate. Flavor is slightly sweet with notes of smoke and hops. Finish is smooth. Excellent. The smoke does not overpower this brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice but not spectacular looking porter with a fairly clear dark brown color and large light tan head. Nose is mostly roasted malt and chocolate...not much of the smoke apparent, as of yet. The smokiness is much more apparent in the flavor, and balances nicely with the roasted flavors. Also has a very dry flavor. Overall, a nice beer, and my first smoked porter.

This is probably my favoirte of the Stone line. Off white head atop a nice, deep brown body. The aroma of roasted malts and chocolate is wonderful and the taste is even better. Very smooth at first with a nice punch of "Arrogance" at the finish. A wonderful winter brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2006 Very dark brown almost black with a deep beige head. Aroma is or roasted malts with some hops. Flavor is slighty roasty, slightly smokey, and moderatly hoppy. Towards the end and in the bakc of the mouth, the smoke becomes more noticeable. Good woody dry, burnt smokiness without the smoked meatiness of the german smoked beers. Nice mouthfeel and body.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The Smoked Porter poured a dark black with a semi-creamy tan head that dissipated rather quickly. Suprisingly, there was not much of an aroma to this beer just a slight malt smell. I wasn't very impressed with the taste either. It had a very bitter, hoppy finish for a porter. As it warmed a roasted malty start became more pronounced. I was expecting a lot from this beer and was pretty disappointed. It wasn't bad, but it was nowhere near what I though it would be. I didn't notice any smokiness in the nose or taste either.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black body, ruby edges, and fading beige head. Roasty aroma with some char/smoke but not heavy. Elements of charred wood in the flavor plus some medium bitterness. Body feels flimsy. Good, but not on my list of favorites from Stone.

(Bottle) Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a thick tan head. I typically do not care much for smoked beers, but this one had great character and flavor.
