Stone Smoked Porter

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a ruby tinged nearly black colour with a creamy and largely lingering tan head. Aroma was sweet chocolate, malt with coffee and molasses hints. Pretty enticing, but didn’t really pick up on the smoked aspect. Creamy mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate in the flavour, and a really good fruity edge as well, which leads to a balanced licorice tinged finish; but the smoked side of things was very muted. That isn’t to the overall detriment of this though, as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pours out dark brown with some head. Taste is roasty, malty and smokey.Semi-sweet porter with dry finish.Very good for the style,balanced taste not too much smoke.

Bottle, from Ojai Liquors. Pours brown with a small cream head. Aroma of caramel malt, chocolate, vanilla and roasts. Flavor showcases roasted notes, though firmly complemented by a nutty, woody, caramel flavor. Finishes dry and roasty. Solid overall, but there are more exciting smoked porters out there.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark-brown/black color with a thin tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, and smoke. Complex roasted malt flavor with hints of chocolate and coffee and with a nice smokey finish at the end. Balanced mouthfeel makes this a very drinkable, fantastic porter.

Bottle. Very dark brown color with nice tan head. Roasty and mild smokiness on the nose. Great porter flavor with subtle smoke and meat. Good body and finish.

Bottle. Black beer with a strongish head. The aroma is lightly roasted and smoked, and the flavour is deeply roasted, strongly bitter and rich and malty. Overall a very nice porter.

Pours a dark brown almost black color with a tan head. Scents are smokey and coffee and chocolate. Not really my style, but a pretty good porter.
