Commercial Description:
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

Stone Smoked Porter pours a very dark blk/brn with a tan colored head. Nose is of smokey roasted cuffee beans. Think a french roast. Taste is nice smokey malt like that of a non-acidic coffee! full bodied and the smoked flavor is definetly present. This beer would be great in chilli,or a stew. or on a nice cold night!

bottle from midway mart in denton tx. poured black with ruby hues and a tan head. aroma of hops and chocolate. flavor of dark roasts with a dry bitter. seemed like the hops were to strong for this to be a porter.

on tap pour a dark choclate color. Flavor is dry, sweet, with just a bit of coffee. Can not detect any smoke and a bit thin. Very drinkable for a porter.

pitch black with great tan head. flavor is of black patent and chocolate malt with a noticeable hop bitterness and even flavor. a lot of depth to this beer with huge flavors everywhere, but it maintains a nice balance. top of the line
