Jul 20, 2008 Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, sweet malt and notes of hops. Taste in line with aroma plus a little chocolate. Smoke not overpowering, nice complement to the beer. Finishes Mildly bitter with a dry semi-hoppy finish.

Jul 19, 2008 Dudebra says this is disappointing and I’m not saying his wrong, aight? Full bodied, big smoke flavor, a good example of the style. However, I don’t look to stone for "a good example of the style", I look to stone for beers that blow my mind. This didn’t.

Jul 19, 2008 Great beer. First porter I’ve had in 10 years! I am going to make a promise to grab a porter or 2 next time i go to the beer store. Deep mohagny and very rich flavor.

Jul 19, 2008 Updated: Aug 10, 2008Bottle that was a few month’s past it’s enjoy by date. It poured black with a tan head that was gone within 2 minutes. It smelled like someone lit a campfire in the distance. I could really taste the smokiness.

Jul 17, 2008 From bottle in snifter. Pillowing and colored head quickly recedes towards the black liquid leaving intermediate lacing. Yeast aroma pervades with little else. Smokey flavor with a little metallic note. Smooth chocolate flavors throughout, sweet. Subtle complexity, good porter.

Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep dark amber-brown with a small creamy head. Big malty aroma, a bit sweet, with some smoke. Taste is more bitter, with smoke and meat, malt, and a hint of an alcohol bite. Great lingering malty bitterness. Very tasty porter.

Jul 16, 2008 22 oz bottle. Clear dark brown with some frothy tan haze. Nose is earthy grape and brown sugar with a faint sweet smokiness. Medium light with crisp carb; gets fuller with the finish. Taste is cocoa, coffee, greens and smoke. Solid but not very smoky.

Jul 15, 2008 22 oz. bomber served in an english pint. awesome beer. nose of ruby port and licorice. taste is heavy chocolate malt. not as smoky as i thought it would be. long, bitter finish. tasty and smooth, went down easy. highly recommended.
