Full bodied, big smoke flavor, a good example of the style. However, I don’t look to stone for "a good example of the style", I look to stone for beers that blow my mind. This didn’t. It poured black with a tan head that was gone within 2 minutes. It smelled like someone lit a campfire in the distance. I could really taste the smokiness. bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2008 From bottle in snifter. Pillowing and colored head quickly recedes towards the black liquid leaving intermediate lacing. Yeast aroma pervades with little else. Smokey flavor with a little metallic note. Smooth chocolate flavors throughout, sweet. Subtle complexity, good porter. dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA
