Flavor has a little more chocolate, a little more smokiness/charredness, as an interesting subtle contrast to the standard porter flavors. Good stuff. kevd193213 (486), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA

Taste of malt, burned almonds with a nice smoky finish and faint hops. LilBeerDoctor (1492), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of smoke, roast, coffee. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, slight bitter chocolate, and light bitter hops. Not too smokey (a plus for me). Palate is not as robust as the great porters, but it’s pretty decent. A nice porter. flatmatt (222), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours opaque black with a sizable dark tan head. Aroma sweet, dark fruits, some roasty and bitter chocolate aromas. Taste is roasty and smokey, bitter chocolate, dark fruits, something a little tart in the flavor as well. Smokiness lingers on the palate. Pretty good. awautlet (45), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Loved this beer. One of the lightest Porters I have tasted. Light malty nose with a hint of smoke. On the palate are flavors of toasted malt, dark chocolate with just a touch of smoke. I like that the smoke is light and really enhances the beer instead of becoming the only taste component. Dry and slightly bitter finish. texasbartender (160), Sugarland, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2008 The beer pours a deep black with a thin off white head that leaves a good lacing down the sides of the glass. The nose is very light with a hint of smoke. The taste is very light but I can pick up some hints of smoke and sourness with light notes of chocolate. The finish is short and dry sja14 (105), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2008 A dark mahogany beer witha tan head. Definitely can smell the smokiness. Can taste burned malt with hints of bitter chocolate. Tastes less smokey than I anticipated. A solid porter but I felt liike it could have been better if it had more of a smokey flavor.
