jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Jan 13, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours black body with brown head. Smells extremely roasty and something else. Taste is great if you like porters - not a big fan personally. mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Jan 13, 2008 Acquired in trade with Snojerk321, pint bottle, served in pint glass- poured black as midnight in the driving rain, 10 % transparency, tan head quietly dissolved. Aroma of roasted malts, toffee, and a hint of chocolate. Hits the mouth with a wide body, notes of smokeiness, finish is solid. Very delightfull, would be a full time drinker of this if I could find it in my area! tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Jan 13, 2008 Bottle - Pours clear but opaque dark brown with a slight tan head. Roasted aroma. Big body with full mouthfeel. Creamy. Underlying hop bitterness, big dark malt flavors and subtle smoky character with mild phenolic notes. Well done. hoooraybeer (48), Cranford, New Jersey, USA Jan 12, 2008 Pours black with a greyish tan head. Not a creamy head. Aroma is not strong but I get coffee and caramel.
Mouthfeel is very carbonated but it’s got more body than most porters I’ve had. The flavor is a little cherry caramel and coffee. The smoke is there but it just flavors the other flavors. It’s very well balanced and drinkable. MIght be the best porter I’ve ever had. It tastes like...more. Beerman6686 (1264), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 12, 2008 Pours very dark brown/almost black. Aroma of chocolate and smoke. Flavor upfront of smoke, with a chocolate and hop background. Pretty good, but not up to par with east end smoke porter which i compare them all to. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Jan 10, 2008 Bottle from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, MI. Dark brown almost black color with small tan head. Aroma is some aged cherry, roasted malt, only slight coffee, medium hops, and smoke as it warms. Flavor is smoke, chocolate, very nutty, pine bitter, very nice. Hotly carbonated with medium body. Very nice flavor and aroma, I love how solid stone is yet being so inexpensive and accesible. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Jan 9, 2008 Stone just continues to put out the good ones! Pours a dark chestnut brown with a beautiful head. Lots of coffee and smoke flavor in this porter. One of my fav. porters out there and decently priced. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Jan 8, 2008 (bottle): Pours a black-brownish body. Tannish color heap, average & lasting, decent lasting. Very smoky aroma, mesquite. Woody. Porterish. Ashtrayish. Watery, smoky, coffee taste. Mesquity. Good & tasty.
