Stone Smoked Porter

Nice attractive pour. Mostly clear brown body with a sufficient khaki head. Scents of caramel, cola, fruit, and peat. Flavor starts out a bit thin and watery. However, as this warms up, the flavors seem to come out a little more. I was expecting more, but this ended up being decent for the style. In my mind, this still doesn’t hold a candle to Alaskan Smoked Porter or Left Hand Smokejumper.

Drank it with my wife and brother last nite, combined with Oaxaca dark chocolate. Up my alley, nice notes of chocolate and smoke, perfectly balances with some smokiness.

A friend of mne said it was liking drinking bacon from a bottle. I don’t know about that, but it is robust, smoky, and quite meaty somehow. Roasty, and slightly hoppy, but not too intense for a porter. Smoky flavor dominates, but it’s not one-dimensional. Really interesting selection.

Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, smokyness. Similar taste, with pleasant hop finish. A well balanced porter.

Pours dark brown with ruby edges and a thick tan head that is creamy and lasts. Aroma is chocolate, light smoke and dark fruit. Initially smoked flavor is strong but then dulls once all the malt sweetness kicks in, also ripe fruit and coffee notes. Silky smooth and delicious.

Overall Impression: A really tasty and enjoyable porter, dark, almost black color. Smokey and roasted. Yummy. You can’t help but enjoy this one...

Excellent beer from one of my favorite breweries. Very drinkable and smooth.

A very nice porter. Pours almost black, with a thin tan head. Smoky with a hint of burnt semi-sweet chocolate. Not particularly sweet. All in all a ’thumbs up’.
