4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, picked up somewhere in NYC. Dark almost black colour, ruddy hints, thick head. Very full flavour, actually uses the strong abv. Roasty malts, chocolate and coffee, restrained hint of smoke. Quite a hoppy finish, a bit less of this might have let the malts shine through more. Very drinkable and pleasant.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle poured a murky dark brown. Lots of head. Aroma of roasted coffee. The taste is bold roasted malt and coffee flavors with mild smoke with a long finish. Great!

Simply as good as they get! Not overpowering on the smoke in the aroma, but sausage, charcoal and burn is subtle underneath the smell of hoppy spruceness. Balanced carb on the tongue, smoke is obvious but very gentle. It does not spoil the beer. Incredibly well crafted smoked beer.

"Stone", "Smoked", & "Porter"... Pretty descriptive name for this beer...
Stone - says this beer will have a good base.
Porter - Stone's Porter is that base
"Smoked" - this is a smoked porter. The smoke comes through stronger in the taste than in the aroma.
Pretty good beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smells delicious, chocolate, rich malt and liquorice. Pours dark brown with a tan head, looks of low carbonation,
Big bitter flavour up front, followed by dark berries, burnt malt, slightly smoky, a little bit of grapefruit.
Heavy body and early bitterness, medium carbonation, dry finish.
A unique beer which is worth trying and good enough for continual purchase. The smoke isn't to over powering and best for those who like hops. Not sweet and more refreshing than you would expect a porter to be.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark chocolate, grape/raisin, a touch of coffee, nuts, and soft pine on the nose. Taste was sweet up front - almost like light orange meets coffee and caramel. Shifts into mix of caramel, dark chocolate, and smoke, then fades to earthy hop, grapefruit, pine, and burnt wood. A different flavor stands out with each sip.
Palate was medium-thick bodied with nice, crisp carbonation. Smooth, lightly viscous, and drying. I wish all Porters felt like this one.
Stone is my favorite brewery for a reason. All four categories are brilliantly crafted and mix together to create one hell of a Porter here. Each sip shifts focus to somewhere else. The back of the bottle hits the nail on the head by saying, "Stone Smoked Porter is mysterious, smoky, and verging on utterly decadent".

1pt 6fl.oz ($4.99) First time trying anything from Stone. pretty good, like the flavor a lot. It really doesn’t taste like anything else and is a great match with BBQ and grilled meats. I liked it and will buy again
