Aug 1, 2009 Bottle . A dark brown to black pour with a huge bubbly brown head , loads of sticky lacing left on the glass , light carbonation . Aroma of roasted malt , coco powder and hints of smoke and coffee . Flavor is very good , a nice roast to the malt , some coffee and light hop bitterness, light chocolate sweetness , and just a hint of smoke at the end . Full body with a creamy mouthfeel . a nice malty smoky finish . very drinkable and quite sessionable . NIce job Stone .

Jul 28, 2009 Pours a deep amber-brown, not quite opaque but almost. Aroma is vague, but I can detect a little nuttiness and smokiness...the roasted malt comes through only after it has warmed up a little. Flavor: The smoke is the first thing out the gate, followed again by toasted malt, and then just a little coffee bean acidity. Creamy palate, but a little watery though. Overall, good minus.

Jul 27, 2009 Nice attractive pour. Mostly clear brown body with a sufficient khaki head. Scents of caramel, cola, fruit, and peat. Flavor starts out a bit thin and watery. However, as this warms up, the flavors seem to come out a little more. I was expecting more, but this ended up being decent for the style. In my mind, this still doesn’t hold a candle to Alaskan Smoked Porter or Left Hand Smokejumper.

Jul 27, 2009 Drank it with my wife and brother last nite, combined with Oaxaca dark chocolate. Up my alley, nice notes of chocolate and smoke, perfectly balances with some smokiness.

Jul 26, 2009 A friend of mne said it was liking drinking bacon from a bottle. I don’t know about that, but it is robust, smoky, and quite meaty somehow. Roasty, and slightly hoppy, but not too intense for a porter. Smoky flavor dominates, but it’s not one-dimensional. Really interesting selection.

Jul 24, 2009 Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, smokyness. Similar taste, with pleasant hop finish. A well balanced porter.
