COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

It’s very smoked. If you like eating smoked salmon, next to a smokey bonfire, whilst drinking porter, this is for you. I love it.

Dark brown, much lacing. Medium body, long palate, lingering. Very nice bittersweet balance. Light roast flavor. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is malt, coffee, chocolate, smokiness and roastiness. Taste is light to medium sweet leading to a roasty and slightly smoky finish. Pretty good.

Really frothy off white head. Very dark colour. Surprisingly fizzy for a porter. Milky chocolatey aroma. Taste is somewhat lost amongst the fizz. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At Cincy Airport. Pours a dark ice tea color - dark, but light for a porter. Somewhat light nose of roasted malts. Taste has some smokiness, malt, touch of coffee. It's somewhat simple for a porter, but it is still good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with ring head and good lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, with a little smoke and hint of vanilla. Taste is heavy roast with some chocolate and smoke. Slightly meaty at times. Smoke is just an element, as advertised, but I’m still not impressed with this or the style. Palate is thin.

On tap at global Brew. Pours a midnight black, with a sizable off white head. Sweet roasted malt and vanilla aroma. Smokey burnt malt flavor, with vanilla and coffee notes.

Very smooth. Dark pour, thick head. Reminds me of Guinness. Tasty with only a hint of smokey roasted taste. Good beer.

Not a big Porter fan...at least not before I tasted this brew. This beer is a great example of a big time hop head converting a bit to the dark side. The smell was decent, but the taste, mouthfeel, and finish were very good. Now I’m apt to try more Porters to stack up, and see how this one really MEASURES up! Keep on drinking...
