I have to say that I think this beer is one of the easiest-to-drink beers I’ve ever had. Mild but noticable tones of smoke, chocolate, and vanilla with a fine creamy texture. A lovely smooth texture. The more I have this beer the more I love it!

Pours a very dark amber almost black, love the smokey aroma. Woody, chocolate and roasted wheat flavors, the smoke does not overpower.

Pours a dark ruby with nice amount of off white head. Smells smokey with hints of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. The taste was really good. Vanilla upfront with peat smoke not dominating the whole beer. At the end chocolate, coffee, and some hops come through to balance everything out! Pretty light palate. One of my favorite porters I tried so far!

This brew pours a dark, almost black color with a band of light tan head. Lacing retains somewhat but is not significant.
The smell is of smoke and semi-sweet chocolate.
The first taste to hit the tongue is the smokiness followed immediately by the nicely roasted malt. A hint of dark chocolate can be tasted as well. The finish is a very roasted flavor with a hint of charcoal. An excellent blend in the finish.
The carbonation is done very well and complements the brew’s viscocity.
A fine tasting brew that all could drink all night. Extremely drinkable and proves to be yet another astounding offering from Stone.

Sweet fairly mild aroma. Frothy/creamy tan head and dark brown color. Medium-heavy body. Somewhat dry smoky/burnt flavor with a tiny bite.

22 oz bottle: smells of roasty smokey malt and chocolate mocha. mmm. its a dark brown/ ruby color with a fairly light brown/ tan head. i like this beer a lot, of course... slight smokey hints, but not over powering, like the rogue smoke... i htink this is a fine beer, and wouldn't mind drinking it ever.

I love porters, but am not overly fond of smoked beers. This brew, however, is not dominated by smoke. Lovely color of pitch - and a hint of brown when held up to the sun on a late lazy afternoon. The nose reminds me of summer BBQ’s at Bill’s, roasted pork butt on the smoker. Quite easy to drink, smooth and roasty with a hint of cocoa, although the smoke is one attribute I would remove, if I could. Smoke is for BBQs, not beer.

Solid porter with good amounts of smooth roasted malt flavor. not enough smoky flavor in my opinion, but great porter regardless.
