COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich, dark and delicious porter with chocolate and coffee overtones accented by a subtle smokiness from just the right amount of peat smoked malt. Unlike a rauchbier, the "smoke" in Stone Smoked Porter is an ELEMENT of the character rather than being THE character. -- Greg Koch, Stone Brewing Co.

Huge fan of Porters. This one did not disappoint. Got the big 22 oz bottle and was quite impressed.

On tap at Stone brewery Dark brown pour with a fast disappearing head. Hints of chocolate toffee and coffee. Tastes closely follows nose but includes a touch of smoke. Not too noticeable to me but overall a nice mellow porter.

Pours a lovely head. Smokey chocolate aroma. Perfect amount of smokiness (I hate beers that taste like bacon). One of their best offerings!

A bomber at home. Toasty, oaky aroma. Beautiful dark mocha color, caramel head, wispy lacing. Taste is light porter goodness. Carb level just right. Nutty aftertaste. Enjoyed.

a light/creamy smoked porter. might not be "as smoked" as what you would get in Bamberg, but i have no complaints.

"i was a little let down, more because expectations were high, not because the beer was bad. good aroma, faint smoke smell, with a nice dark roasted malty aroma. deep brown, almost black color, some head, some lacing. the body was a little lacking, not what i expected for in a porter. felt a little light, not full bodied as a "light stout" usually does. smoke flavor was absolutely perfect, just enough without smacking you. in fact, the smoke played second fiddle. hops run pretty high for a porter, a good level of bitterness. "chocolate, coffee" or roasted flavors inherent with porters are a little subdued. All-in-all, good tasting brew, enjoyable and very drinkable. great amount of smoke, but not the flavor profile i’d expect for a porter"

22oz bottle. Black with nice lacing. Chocolate and licorice aroma. Slight hint of smoke in the flavor, but finishes very smooth

Thanks to zeke626 for sharing this bottle. The beer was near opaque dark brown with thin tan foam. In the flavor there was semi-sweet candy malt and more subtle coffee. No smoke. In the flavor there was sweet candy malt, burnt malt, coffee. There was a faint smokiness on the mid-palate and on the finish which was rather bitter.

Bomber. Pours near black with reddish brown edges. Nice sized light tan head that lasts and leaves chunks of lacing all the way down the glass. Nose is of chocolate, coffee, hints of vanilla, and smoke in the background. Taste is similar with chocolate and coffee being the most prevalent, caramel malt backbone, with a smokiness that truly compliments it all. Light citrus hops on the finish with roasted malt coming through as well. Medium-light slick mouth feel with carbonation that tingles a bit.

Black with a nice creamy tan head that leaves a nice stickiness on the glass. the smell and taste are of smoke, coffee, chocolate and malt. the smell has some other sweet qualities to it and the taste falls in the order listed above, with a finish that goes back to the coffee flavour for a nice dry finish.
