Great looking porter poured from a 22oz bomber. Large frothy head of light brown and lasts most the pint. Dark black/brown appearance with a slight red hue when held to the light. The aroma of this beer is what struck me. Heavy malt and molasses/roasted chocolate and virtually no hop aroma but did detect a bit of bread/dough. Smokey smell was light, I expected it heavier and it would have been invited.
Unfortunately, this smoked porter did not live up to the aroma for me. Albeit a great beer, it had a lightly sweet initial flavor but I was struck immediately with fair bitter taste with a hint of smoke. Exceptional medium to full body with a pleasant carbonation and dry yet creamy texture. As I drank I felt it finished even more bitter and it lasted quite some time on my palate. Would surly drink again but not something I will stock in my beer fridge. A little acidic/bitter for my taste, would go great with a hearty meal.

The Stone Smoked Porter poured a translucent brown with an amber hue. The off-white head was massive due to a very heavy pour. A very evident lace was left as the head receded.
The aroma was dominated by smoky malt. The taste was malty with a hint of spice and a smoky finish. For those of you who do not like smoked beers, be aware that as a smoked porter, there truly is not a lot of smokiness to this beer...for those of you love smoked beers you might be disappointed.
The mouthfeel is mediocre, not as creamy as I would have liked but with a nice carbonation that makes the beer quite drinkable. All in all an enjoyable brew.

Nice aroma with color and head. Smokiness is almost nonexistent. Finish is a little earthy at times.

Another great one from Stone. Not as much smoke as I expected but the coffee and chocolate played well with the more subtle smoke. While I never thought I would say this about a Stone beer it almost strikes me as delicate. Absolutely delicious.

22 oz. shared with my Patty Cakes. Enjoyed slightly colder than room temperature, which seemes perfect. Slighlty carbonated with a light mouth feel, however it does not lack flavor. Smokey coffee, chocolate and a hint of raisins make this a tasty choice.

The nose was absolutely smokeless, but nonetheless smelled wonderful, as any good porter does. Distinct bitterness in the flavour. It was very creamy as I started drinking it, but became less so as time passed. Very good beer.

The smoked malt is the predominant flavor of this beer, although the normal coffee and chocolate flavors of a good porter come out as well. Amongst the 10 best Porters in the world!
