Very, very dark brown, with a dark tan head. If served very cold it is a good idea to let this sit for 5-10 minutes before drinking or the beer will have little flavor. If tasted at the right temperature, hints of coffe and chocolate are present. This is a great porter, and another good beer from Stone!

Good balance for a Stone Brewery product. Malt, smokiness, coffee, caramel chocolate and hops. A very easy drinker. On my regular list.

Aroma had distinct coffee and roasty character. Appearance brown with touch of red. Taste was slightly bitter. Medium body and had average carbonation. To me the beer was average at best but then again I have high expectations for Stone being from San Diego.

1 pt bottle poured into pint glass. Dark brown body with off-white head which lingers well.
Smooth drinking with hints of coffee, chocolate and smokey wood. Another good Stone beer.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2004 This is a dark porter which is ideally smoked. As with most Stones, it's strong and flavorful. Masterful balance of the hops. I seek this beer out!

Quality porter. The smoke and mild hops create a very smooth finish. Probably the tamest Stone brew I’ve had yet. My only gripe is that the body is noticibly thin as it warms.

22 oz. bottle split two ways. Poured very dark, limited tan head. Flavor a dark nutty chocolate smoke. An enjoyable drink.

I am not going to go through the snob bullshit. Drink this if you have the chance. A bloody steak and some friends all good.

Great taste. Very pretty beer, very dark, with some pretty kaki head. Nice, smooth taste, coffee, chocolate notes, with a great finish. My favorite beer from Stone.

Poured from bottle. Dark black appearance with lasting head, very nice lacing. At first sip strong smoke flavor comes out, with roasted and coffee notes. Good beer, not a favorite I’d go back to though.
