4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pint bottle, poured into a traditional mug. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Poured solid black. Nice light tan head, wavy lacing, and even thick geographic lacing that caked the inner walls of my mug, something I have never seen before. Noticed the smokyness at the nose, and strong flavors of dark chocolate, coffee just a twinge of a rasberry. Awesomely a nice blend of hop bitterness with malt sweetness, could not get over the smokyness. A medium or heavier mouth feel. Overall I was very impressed with this superbly executed porter.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Overhopped, bitter, somewhat rancid. I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle, because I cannot fathom how this beer is enjoying such a high overall rating on Ratebeer.
Yuck. Almost a pour-out. Tastes like someone dropped a cigarette butt in a bottle of Big Rock Traditional Ale.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle. Tasted on 4/4/15. Bottle courtesy of Espo. This had a pretty mild smoked element to it & was pretty well balanced with the chocolate & Mike bitterness. Pretty nice overall.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, finally getting a chance at this. We get most of the flavored varieties here, but never the plain?! Anyway, deep brown beer, decent almond colored head, good lacing. Aroma dried plum, coffe, smoke, toasted barley. Taste is toasted barley, faint fruit, coffee. Palate a bit light, carbonation a bit sharp, for style. I like the hops at the finish, this is almost dry.

Incredible deal and wonderful aroma and taste of coffee and chocolate. Good and quite as heavy bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the mouth for a long while. Exquisite beer and enjoyable. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
