Bomber. Pours black, not opaque, but black. Minimal brown head. Aroma is intensely coffee, smoke, wheat?, apple. Taste is upfront with cocoa and caramel. Lots of coffee and smoke. Roasted malts do not overwhelm as description atests. Excellent bitter quality bites at back and lingers forever. Bitterness reminds of ashes and mocha coffee. Most porters are too watery for me. Stone Smoked Porter does not have this problem, although the palate is light. My favorite porter to date.

Sep 4, 2008 Black color......opaque. Thick, creamy head. Heavy malt aroma, with subtle hints of smoke. Somewhat of a smoky malt flavor up front......very smooth mouthfeel. Smoke flavor continues into the back, though mingled in with a slightly bitter taste......finish is long and bitter. Though quite tasty, this smoked porter is a tad thin, and a little too bitter.

Sep 3, 2008 Draught. Low and quickly disappearing off-white fluffy head. Pitch black body. Coffee cocoa vineous aroma. Coffee cocoa liquorice hops kovely smoked flavor. Low carbonation, long aftertaste.

Sep 1, 2008 22oz bottle: Pours very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of smoky,roasted malt, cocoa and slight hint of coffee. Nice smoked taste with some dark chocolate flavor gives it a subtle bitter finish. Surprisingly lighter body than I expected. I’ll probably try this one again.

Sep 1, 2008 About what I expected. Moderate roasted malt backbone with light smokiness. Moderate dark chocolate with some light coffee bean notes. Woody and somewhat earthy, a tad thin.

Sep 1, 2008 pours dark brown and clean with tan head and lots of lacing aromas of smoke and coffee and roasted malts taste is of smoke.chocolate,coffee and malts has a smooth mouthfeel not a big fan of smoke beer but not over powering it is a flavor in the beer not the flavor of th beer
