4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Strong aroma of thistle and pineapple. Black pour with a thick light brown head. It tastes of charred oak and pineapple, finishing in smoke ,ash, and licorice. Well hopped throughout. This is a very special beer.

Enjoyed this flavor bomb at a Stone promo. Poured pitch black with a small dirty white head. Smelled and tasted very hoppy and finished with a sweet malty taste. A very unique and delicious style of beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Dutchís. Poured dark brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Heavy complex toasted malt, tart citrus and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Heavy balanced bittersweet chocolate malt flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer that I have additional bottles to try the next three years. Good beer for #2800

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown body with a small tan head, fading. The aroma is catty, tangerine, grapefruit, alcohol and cotton candy. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter with citrus fruits like grapefruit and tangerine mixed with a sickening amount of malt sugars, caramel, tea and cotton candy. Medium body is rough on the palate with an astringent and bitter end.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Black pour, receding but lasting light tan head. No lacing, ring of foam that sticks around for the duration. Nose is huge, hops, resin, pine cones, citrus fruits and malts. Flavor is like sucking on a pine cone, huge hop flavor and bite. The flavor/nose and the appearance are causing my mind to do weird things, they just donít look like they match! Medium mouthfeel, coating oily palate. Finish is lengthy and full of hoppy goodness. Great beer.
Degarth is crazy. That is all.

With the hop-lineup this is sporting I couldnt imagine finding it all that great. WRONG. Great muthereffing drink. Hops gone wild in this roasty, full bodied IPA experience. The smooth roasted malt provides a strong, heavy sweet malt base that serves as the backdrop for an overloaded pine, citrus explosion highlighted by the strong dry-hop punch at the end. It does have some fig or plum in there as well. Its hard to dig thru this drink as every layer is piled under a heap of some hop presence.

22 shared with brie... I dropped it right after I popped the top. 1/4 of the beer ended up on the ground for the cats to enjoy. This is an IPA that looks like a porter. The dark chocolate malt tastes great with the Stone signature over the top hops. The citrus was strong and made this taste like one of those orange flavored chocolates u get at chrismas... Iím gonna go back and buy a few of these awesome beers.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had on draft at the brewery and a few bottles now and I must say this is my least favorite anniversary beer in a while. Nice deep color - tight head - great aroma of complex piny / slightly citrusy hops pushing through a solid background of toasty malt with lighter bready / biscuit like aromas. Flavor is a tangy blend of sweet / toasted malts and hop bitterness. The finish puts me off somewhat as the hop bitterness combines with the malt flavors to finish with a very tangy / almost tannic twinge on the end. I expect this may mellow with a bit of time so Iíll put a few bottles in the cellar for another day.

Poured and looked like a porter. Tasted like a IIPA. Big hop flavor with nice mix of chocolate and roasted malt. Good beer.
