4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is one of the best beers I have ever had. Stone is a top notch brewer. The beer pours black with some tan head. Carbonation is low. The aroma is hoppy with some pine and citrus evident but there is also some subdued caramel malt sweetness. The taste is initially bitter but there are awesome some malt notes and the finish is a lingering bitterness. I love the balance between malts and hops. The body is on the light side and the alcohol is hidden extremely well. A very nice beer that I will be purchasing again in the very near future.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bomber, awesome gargoyle/devil looking thing on the bottle, very black pour, very hoppy aroma, initial taste is sweet wet hops which finishes into bitter mixture of burnt hops. Solid beer probably wouldn’t buy again

The best of all the black ipa’s I’ve tried over the years. Marked hop aroma and presence. Roasted malt backbone but no ashy or strong roasted bitterness.

Bottle, enjoy by 02/27/2014.
Prominent hop nose, fruity pepples, orange, light burnt/smoky.
Heavy citrus orange. Softer grain mouthfeel, perhaps oat, rounds out the smokiness.
Clean leafy hop oil resinous taste and aroma.
One of my all-time favorites. Clean, pronounced hoppiness,
