2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 onceblind (2535) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Tap at Falling Rock during GABF. Dark dark brown with a laceful, thin foamy khaki head. Roasty nose with earthy hop resin, and smokey dark maltiness that almost has this red-wine note to it. Flavor is roughly the same, smokey and roasty, with a bit of sweetness from earthy chocolate malts, a touch of rauch malts, mild hop flavors with balancing hop bitterness, and a very slight red wine barrel essence. I think. Didn’t really do it for me.
