COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Reflecting the red volcanic soil of our hinterland and brewed from a blend of pale and crystal malts, Jasper Ale is deep red, has a rich malt character and is well balanced with a firm spicy hop bitterness.

Pours dark amber, looks nice. Strange nose - bit like wild yeast, but maybe just herbal hops with a backing of crystal malts. Although I suspect an infection. Same unusual taste follows in the mouth - bit muddled for me, but finishes cleanly with a solid bitterness. Need to try again in a few months.

From what I remember this was a low key easily drinkable ale. Caramel malt was the subtle flavor that dominated the beer for me and slowly as the beer warmed grew on me. Easily drinkable nothing to rave about but worth a pint.

Bottle - pours deep ruby with a big off white head. First sniff the head was soapy with a slight metallic twinge, after, a swirl the rich dried fruit almost port aroma came through. Rich plum taste up from with a lingering fruit finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but nice drop.

500ml bottle. BB 2Mar14. Poured a translucent garnet red colour with a three- to four-finger beige foamy head that retained well and left suds rings on the glass. High carbonation as seen by numerous small bubbles forming trails. Aroma subtly of sweet caramel malt. Taste of sweet caramel with any influence of hops absent. Light body. Smooth finish. Average.

On tap at Draft House Charlotte, London. Ruddy brown, creamy head. Toffee nose and taste with dry citrus kicking in towards the finish. Not bad.

Hazy copper color, tan head. Hoppy, malty, a bit roasted taste. Mineral, malty aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel with a bit high co2, medium bitterness to the dry side. Sweet, malty, fruity scent.

Very dark copper colour with flecks of red throughout. Deep thick creamy head of brown foam. Lots of caramel malt in the aroma, sweet. Biscuity malt flavour which is quite good.

Ruby red. Malt, spice and rum on both the nose and palate. A pleasant and enjoyable beer that just fails to step into that next category of flavour and texture that it promises to do. A common fault with stone & wood in my view, although perhaps in keeping with a laid back, relaxed Byron bay culture -

500mL bottle. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with some fresh fruit, a little toast and hops. Fairly subdued flavour, medium sweetness and low bitterness. Light body, soft carbonation and a lingering finish.

Pours a deep red color with a tan head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma of malts, some nuts and bit of herbs. Taste of malt, with a bit of a caramel sweetness and some nuts. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth with a unique character. Enjoyable beer intersting take on the style.

Pours a cloudy brown with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, spice and hops. Taste is sweet caramel leading to a dry hoppy finish. Not bad.
