pours bright gold with thick white head and vigorous carbonation. aroma of passionfruit soda (passiona), thin body, taste of passion/pinapple again (passiona), enjoyed this one very much, a great session beer
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ALLOVATE (2111) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2011
Pine wood and pineapple, guava and strong pear notes on the nose, a little passionfruit and stinging nettles tickle in late, very nice. Pour is average. Thinly looking, no head and soda-pop carbonation the result of poor conditoning. Not quite clear, the body a pale straw yellow. Soft mouthfeel, well rounded in flavour showing nice balance and perfect poise to be deadly sessionable. Wheat malt base lifted by tropical, Summery fruit esters. A dry back end that is vinous, but slightly lacking and watery in the swallow which drops off far too quickly. Medial bitterness on the peak. Better when it warms. I quite like it but it fails to stimulate right on the swallow, seems to just die off from the flavour evident on the palate. Still, not too bad at all!! (33cL, BB 01/09/11, 1st Choice Liquor)

Quite suprising this beer, fresh lemon, pineapple, passionfruit and floral aromas. Bit light on malt, easy in the mouth and a dryish finish. Think the ladies would find this pleasant.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SeanMacGC (331) - Dublin, IRELAND - NOV 15, 2010
Draught, pours cloudy straw. Zesty fruity aroma, and lively on the palate with a pleasant citrus bitterness, complemented by malty notes. A decent ale.

Bottle 330ml. Good beer. Aromas of grass, and flowers. Taste starts sweet, with lingering bitterness at the end. Palate is oily, with a thin body. Cloudy yellow, bubbly, with a frothy white head.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pyobon (730) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 20, 2010
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2012 Bottle. Poured hazy pale straw with decent white head. Pleasant tangy lemony fruity aroma. Light body with fizzy frothy carbonation. Tangy lemony fruity taste with a slight light malt and hint of hop finish. Overall unusual, but it works in a refreshing light sort of way.
Previous review was a bottle (20/08/10). Had this on draft 07/11/12 and aroma had more tropical fruit than I mentioned in this review. Still go with the same rating.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Maris (754) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 6, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2011 From a 330ml bottle on 7/8/2010. As noted by others, pours golden and cloudy much like a wit. Has a massive floral, fruity aroma, with passionfruit notes particularly prominent. In the mouth, you get a honeyed sweetness, quite strong citrus flavours, a modest bitterness, and slightly excessive carbonation. Quite unusual, definitely drinkable, while not being remarkable. Rating 3.3.
Re-rate: From the tap at the Local Taphouse, St Kilda on 27/1/2011 (part of a five beer tasting paddle). Note that this was labelled ’Draft Ale’ rather than ’ Pacific Ale’. Some pineapple on the nose in addition to the passionfruit. Caronation was more in check this time. Happy to up the rating to 3.5.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Davros (1484) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 15, 2010
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2011 Pours gold with a large lasting head.
Nose shows loads of orange blossom, lemon, kiwi fruit and passion fruit with subtle sweet clean malt underneath. Reminds me of pavlova for some reason.
Similarly fruity flavours but the malt is more noticeable with sweet cookie-dough characters.
Carbonation is a little too high.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 RyansRatings (43) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 6, 2010
Cloudy, pale straw in colour. Persistent fine head, which hangs around admirably. Fruits of near atomic proportions leap from the glass; passionfruit, citrus, guava and melon. The palate is richly fruited and crisp, the finish is lengthy and dry.
