Bottle from the Local Taphouse shop. Nice malty flavours. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and raisins, with tropical notes. Taste is sweet, with long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Red, with no head.

(bottle) The only thing that falls short of excellent is the appearance - it’s a cloudy coppery brown with a short-lived tan head - not very appealing. Lovely rich fruity aroma - mainly raisins with some banana and a nice spicey touch. Full bodied with a smooth creamy carbonation. Flavour starts with fruitiness, mainly raisins and develops complexity with esters and spice and sweetness with caramel. The finish has a mix of bananas and spice, but little bitterness. Overall a very impressive beer.

500ml bottle. Dark tea like colour with a big soft head of tan foam. Lots of spice in the aroma with a faint hint of rum in background, also a bit of honey in the aroma as well. Full in the mouthing a nice smooth mouthfeel and again there I that hint of rum hiding in the background. This is a good beer and deceptively easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours cloudy copper orange brown with big fluffy and resilient light tan head and decent lace. Aromas of sweet malts, banana and pitted fruits - rum altogether not evident until trying hard and splashing about. Cloves are less than expected on the aroma. Medium-light body, refreshing dry - lightly sweet finish - very easy going for the ABV. Spice/cloves subtle, balanced with a bit more malt sweetness.

Bottle. Hazy reddish brown pour with a foamy beige head that lasts a while. Aroma is sweet and mildly spicy with notes of chocolate, banana, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg and raisins. Spices are even more prominent in the flavour and the molasses comes through a bit more, while the fruit is toned down and the malt notes are still assertive but a little less sweet. Mouthfeel is light and dry, especially for the style, with moderate carbonation and a lingering sweet, spicy finish. Not a bad effort overall, it’s nice and easy to drink although it feels like it could be tightened up a bit to make it really impressive.

500ml Bottle- a very enjoyable beer. Lovely dark malt flavours. a good sipping beer.

Poured a deep red brown colour with a thick beige coloured foamy head that faded moderatley quickly. Aroma of sweet molasses as is the taste. Medium body that finished slightly sweet. Quite a good beer!

Pours hazy dark brown with a large, lasting head. Nose shows molasses, banana, clove and doughy wheat. No sign of the rum. Flavours include more doughy wheat, banana, and sweet molasses. Pretty much exactly as the aroma promises. Quite drinkable. Carbonation could be a little higher. The molasses makes for an interesting spin on the dunkelweizen style, personally I’d like to notice more of the rum.

Red body with no head. Banana noticeable on the aroma, a touch of cinnamon alongside the banana in the taste, smooth and medium body.
