Aarleks (402), Sydney, Australia Nov 1, 2006 Bottle: I thought this was pretty nice, so I was surprised to see the other ratings for it. Oh well... Very, veryh pale yellow green. Nice fresh giner aroma with some sugar, citrus, and touches of floral notes. In the mouth a slightly dead malt note mid-palate took away from what would otherwise have been a refreshing, quenching ginger freshness. Some pleasant lingering citrus notes. Not too keen on the preservatives - couple of points off for that...
CQC (223), Sydney, Australia May 1, 2009 Tis all gingery. I do like a bit of ginger beer so having alcohol in it makes it even better. IT’s a bit hard to compare it to other beers cause it tastes like, well, ginger. So in terms of all the standard beer ratings it’s a bit off the wall. So here goes: Aroma is great, all very gingery which overpowers anything else aside from the slightly metalic overtones (which could just be older ginger). Appearance is pretty shocking. It looks like traditional lemonade, so all very un-beer like aside from the cloudiness. Flavour is very much of ginger strangly enough. Ginger with a bit more ginger. A tad too sweet for me, so we need a dry ginger beer please stones. There is a slight lingering aftertaste which reminds of, hmmm, ginger I think. But after that theres a hint of something I can’t identify, but it lets you know you’ve had a drink with alcohol in it. It’s a kind of light soft handover breath that targets teh side of the tongue. Gawd. Overall though I like it and you could very eaily drink it without even noticing the alcohol which will make a favourite with the underage drinkers of Australia. UnholyBrewing (415), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia Apr 9, 2009 ...hmmm, bottle no pour on the roader. Pretty clean, with a decent ginger flavor. Easy drinking, not overpowering, and I guess balanced for the most part. Finished ginger and dry. Wasn’t bad. Papsoe (12906), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 12, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Pours a cloudy greenish with only the tiniest white head - mostly looks like a lemon tonic pop. Sweet aroma of lemon and ginger. Light in body, very sweet and sugary with delicious ginger notes that leaves a discreet hot bite. No bitterness. Scaringly the alcohol is not felt at all, this really appears like a normal non-alcoholic Ginger Beer. 130208 Plimmer (251), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 13, 2008 Bottle 33cl. White hazy body with small head. Looks like a bitter lemon soda. Nose totally dominated by sweet ginger. Very sweet ginger and fizzy feeling. Sweet ginger in the aftetaste. This is compareable to a breezer. Pyobon (215), Sydney, Australia Dec 10, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy white yellow with no head. Initially a reasonable ginger aroma. Lively carbonation and medium body. The flavour has some nice ginger bite but is very sweet. It’s initially refreshing, but way too sweet and this builds up to make it quite disappointing. strings (344), Sydney, Australia Feb 18, 2007 I guess I’ll just take thir word for it that this was alcoholic ginger beer. Bit sickly sweet, with a thoroughly processed soft drink feel. Probably seemed worse after tasting filthmuppet’s much more substantial home-brewed ginger effort several days previous. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 21, 2007 Murky pale yellow colour. Sweet ginger aroma. Sweet ginger flavour and fizzy palate. vanvenlo (794), Glen Iris, Australia Jan 17, 2007 24 Apr 2006 - Sweet ginger aroma. Very light yellow-white cloudy colour low carbonation. Sweet simple ginger flavour. Easy drinking lacks a spark. Basically its lolly water.
