Bottle shared courtesy of kumquat. Poured a medium copperish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of nuts, toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, and vanilla. Tastes of brown sugar sweetness, dark fruits, toasted nuts, caramel, and molasses. LIght alcohol finish. Nice...I’m waiting to see that Photo Mike

Thanks to egajdzis for this rare treat - yes his name is on the bottle. Pours a lightly hazy orange/brown with a medium bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of toffee, dark fruits, malty sweetness, alcohol burn, caramel, pecan pie and vanilla. Flavor of dark fruits, vanilla, pecans, molasses, brown sugar, some bitterness still sticking around. This one was a nice surprise, wasn’t sure how it was holding up going into it, but very nice.

the pour is apricot colored with no head. sweet malty aroma. flavor is bitter but it soon finishes sweet, probably too sweet since my notes say ’sweet finish. sweet finish’. i found this a disappointing brew overall.

Bottle courtesy of Kathryn. Thanks! Rating #1000! Reddish amber brown with a small creamy white head. Rich caramel and alcohol aroma with some pine notes. Very smooth creamy and silky mouth feel. Caramel and mild chocolate taste with a smooth vanilla flavor and some nice herbal notes and a mild bitterness to the finish. This one aged very well.

Bottle at Bistro. Gold with a small head. But the again I didn’t pour. Flavor is mostly caramel with some sticky pine. This beer has held up very well.

220z bottle: Pours a hazy amber with virtually no head. Lacing is also lacking. The nose is characterized by toffee and dried fruit. My first taste was harsh as the bottle was too cold. As it warmed up notes of caramel and toffee with a bit of coffee were what I found. The alcohol is still noticeable. The palate is good but I want a little more of a coating than this offered. Overall this is a good beer but I feel like they gave up balance to achieve a beer bigger than the Arrogant Bastards at Stone had brewed before.

RBSG 07 Minneapolis Grand Tasting: Hazy copper, no head or lacing. Nose of sweet caramel and plum, decent hops. The flavor is plenty sweet, subtle and balanced, very nice. Creamy and caramelly, light alcohol. Notes of pine and grass, beautiful barleywine, wish I could get some more.
