It’s important to us to make cider in keeping with its rich heritage. We use fresh juice from regionally sourced apples, immediately fermented with natural yeasts, to create truly unique flavours. Nestled on the south Cork coast our cider is imbued with the nature that surrounds it.

Bottle, 500ml. *** Colour: Bright yellow golden; small, fluffly white head. *** Nose: Kiwi-lime, apple juice. *** Mouthfeel: Medium body, not watery at all. Soft carbonation. *** Taste: Sweetish at first, ripe apples and apricots. Middle is still medium sweet, apples with lime. Higher acidity in the finish, sour apples. Medium long aftertaste of sweeter apples again. *** Impressions: Very fruity and tart cider with some uncommon notes in the aroma and flavour. "Medium sweet" would be more appropriate. Good depth, more body than the ABV would suggest. Excellent cider.

Cask Deep-chromate yellow/golden clear cider with a small rim from pouring. Mainly sweet apples and a bit of straw. Quite some sweet applejuice, as if halted fermentation, which would be strange. But tasting natural, no syrupiness. Sticky-slick, no cloying, keeps hanging around backthroat for quite some time. Decent, but not a patch on the Welsh ciders.

Bottle as Finnbarra Medium Dry Irish Craft Cider, medium sample. Clear golden color, short frothy lasting head. Aroma of apple juice, cake, slight spicy. Bit sweet in taste, mashed apples. Decent, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle at the Village Tavern with the family for uncle Jimmys 50th celebration. Pours a clear golden body with no head or lacing. Aroma is fresh apple skins and light tart apple juice. Mouthfeel is near perfect for a regular non-ice cider - love the balance between the acidity and sweet apple flavor. Great - reminiscent of a French farmhouse cider.

500 ml. bottle sampled as “Finnbarra Medium Dry Irish Craft Cider” @ “Kaapse Brouwers 1st Anniversary Beer Festival”. Pale golden. Sweetish apple nose, light rustic note,… Light touch dry, rather sweet apple, faint candy,… Med. to dry body. Not bad at all but rather forgettable.

Ein feiner, klassischer Cider mit einer ausgewogenen Seele von sauer und süß. Dazu fein im Apfel mit einer milden Spritzigkeit und einem Hauch von Pfirsich. Zu empfehlen.

Bottle from Culchiem - many thanks! The cider has got a clear deep golden colour with a smooth body. Mild carbonation. Aroma of ripe apples, red apples, sweet apple mash, caramel and honey. Medium dry finish, not too sugary sweet. Enjoyed it.
