COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Contract brewed for Jones Brewing Co.

A smooth refreshing all grain beer. This beer is brewed and aged the natural, costlier way. Using the finest barley, malt, selected grains and hops to produce a smooth and refreshing Stoneyís beer.

Passable, but not anything special going on here. Had a slight saltiness that made the beer palateable. Clean crisp and boring.

$15 a case, didnít expect much, was happy with what i purchased, creamy tongue feel, bubbles, easy to drink, hint of malt, kind of a very odd mint like aftertaste

As I was drinking this, someone walked up and called it the "diabetic beer." No sugar added, etc. Not bad.

This is my boat beer. ITís in cans, and doesnít harbor a lot of flavor. Perfect for the heat. Am I supposed to drink Imperial IPA while fishing????? I think not. Worse than Beast? Old Mil? Someone needs a hug. Iíve paid more for a lot worse.

Stoneyís Beer 16 oz can Recent Brewing, drank 09/06 Medium pour in a pint glass. Poured clear light yellow with a small white fully diminishing head. Smelt of sweet multi grain bread. Taste was upfront moderately sweet bread followed followed by a light sweet fruitiness and light bitter bite, and a tinge of weird off putting taste. Mouthfeel was light to medium, creamy, bubbly and lightly astringent. Overall, Iím not sure whether to hate this beer or love it. Itís like a good obscure cheap american pale lager, but at the same time, itís a cheap american pale lager with all these funky tastes.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2010 This is a rerate because Iím really disappointed in the "new" Stoneys beer. Itís not nearly as good as when it was made by Iron City. Where Iron kept to the original recipe for the most part, this contract brew is just a run of the mill macro: more watery, less flavor, drier and less drinkable.

Pours a dark golden color. Smell is of grains, corn. Taste is grains, a bit medicinal at the finish. Overall a mediocre beer.

Typical of a standard domestic lager but thereís enough extra depth and flavor to give Stoneyís an edge over the mass-produced domestic lagers from the giants. If Bud is your beer, why not buy Stoneyís...itís better is every respect but close enough to your familiar style of beer to keep you happy. Iíd much rather support little Joneís Brewing Company than the giants who are trying hard to kill these little breweries. Not a bad product but I would like to see them eliminate the adjuncts and go all malt.

Pours a light yellow with a thin white head. Slight metallic taste. Not the greatest beer Iíve had but I have had worse. At $6.99 for a 24 pack, I had to try it.

i had this years ago when i lived in rural Ohio and enjoyed itís íblue collarí appeal, I hope it survives the canalbalizing efforts of the monster brewers in this country
