i had this years ago when i lived in rural Ohio and enjoyed it’s ’blue collar’ appeal, I hope it survives the canalbalizing efforts of the monster brewers in this country
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 igneous1 (1467) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - AUG 25, 2002
draught at the Greater Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival (it was the only beer they had i’d not tried). I’m not rating this beer horribly low because of one reason..out of the tap, this beer had a very nice bitterness reminiscent of a pale ale. otherwise, it’s fairly ordinary
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 dwest3 (8) - North Carolina, USA - JUN 22, 2004 does not count
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2004 Not bad, not great. Better than Iron Shitty or Rolling Rock as far a western PA brews go. Like a really good Budweiser (oxymoron huh?) The sixer i bought was worth every bit the 2.99 i spent on it.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 cheap (3379) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 26, 2008
White 12 oz can from a $14/24 case. A little more golden than I expected. Doesn’t smell bad, like most cheap lagers do. Taste is clean but slightly metallic and processed. At times it has a sort of unsweetened slaggy background. Good carbonation. Mild industrial finish, easily repeatable. Decent pale lager session brew.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - FEB 13, 2006
Bottle. Poured a small white fizzy head that mostly diminished with poor lacing, transparent, carbonated, and a yellow hue. Nose was malty and lightly hoppy. Flavor was sweet, malty, and lightly hoppy. Nothing outstanding. Tingly palate. Light body.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Aurelius (3445) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 22, 2003
Malty and a little fruity aroma. Medium gold. Decent cheap regional. A little sweet, a little Saazy a little tart. Palate doesn't cling, medium-light body.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - NOV 2, 2002
Label claims ’All Grain, no Sugars added’, for what it’s worth. I don’t know if they’re claiming no adjuncts or not - that’s a bit iffy. Taste was actually pleasant, if a bit too light - Tart, sweet apples, dry finish. medium thick body, but overcarbonated, esp. considering there was no head and little lacing.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 xav33 (313) - Midland, MI, Michigan, USA - SEP 15, 2006
Stoney’s Beer
16 oz can
Recent Brewing, drank 09/06
Medium pour in a pint glass.
Poured clear light yellow with a small white fully diminishing head.
Smelt of sweet multi grain bread.
Taste was upfront moderately sweet bread followed followed by a light sweet fruitiness and light bitter bite, and a tinge of weird off putting taste. Mouthfeel was light to medium, creamy, bubbly and lightly astringent.
Overall, I’m not sure whether to hate this beer or love it. It’s like a good obscure cheap american pale lager, but at the same time, it’s a cheap american pale lager with all these funky tastes.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 PorterPounder (4612) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 22, 2003
Tastes like your Dad's beer when you would steal a sip as a kid. Specimen colored - no head, faint fruity aroma. Bland, middle of the road flavor - not leaning towards either hops or malt. Did not expect much - but better than expected, nothing offensive - little metallic in the aftertaste.

average taste, little head, typical standard American beer.
